Thank you for sharing this. I remember seeing this as a kid when it was on t.v. The part of this show that stuck with my memory was the segments showing real-life rocket packs and I think that is the first time I had ever seen or heard of such a thing. I eventually got to see the movie and loved it! Its a great movie. Its really cool to see this show again thirty years later.

Thanks for this. I bought the Blu Ray anniversary edition of this movie and it had no extras other than a poor quality trailer. They should have at least included this.

I just about caught the end of this on tv as a kid. Now I've just seen the whole thing, it was worth the wait.

One of the last GOOD live action films that Disney did back in the days.

I remember this movie and I love it because I watched this movie in the theaters. But I do remember the actress from this movie for she's in the Jim Henson movie Labyrinth.

I think I vaguely remember when this aired...on WPIX Channel 11,here in New York,
I believe! THE ROCKETEER reminds me alot of CAPTAIN AMERICA...a super-character that existed around WWII...fought the Nazis...and had a sort-of mad
scientist inventor...in his case,it was Howard Hughes, the real- life eccentric inventor!
Glad you downloaded this...this was real AWESOME!!!

Strangely enough, The Rocketeer could have been done about a millionaire eccentric inventor creating a flying pack for a pilot that undergoes an alter ego whilst they take on missions for the good of the US of A. Sound familiar? Yep, its Iron Man (because of Tony Stark inventing a suit) and Captain America (a patriot who becomes a masked man to fight people who would harm America)

What’s crazy is “Jan” from The Office (US), is the singer at the South Seas Club. Blew my mind when I saw her singing. It made me wonder if she was singing about Hunter in the song lol

It worked the other way around for me. When I saw her in The Office I thought "it's the singer from The Rocketeer!"

Quite informative and also entertaining as well. Though the original Rocketman appeared in a serial around 1948 . Saw the movie The Rocketeer and it was pretty good.

It’s really ironic that the guy who played the Rocketeer was terrified of flying before he got the role. It’s almost as if the universe itself gave him that role as a form of exposure therapy to treat his phobia.

Dave Stevens did not create this..thats a load of crap....this is a rip off of Commando Cody Sky Marshall from the 1950's..Stevens just changed to story a little..not the main character

The Rocketeer comics were some of the best comic art ever. Apart from the quality of the lines, there is a lot of heart and soul in those panels which the movie doesn't match (not that it's a bad movie). Dave Stevens took inspiration from the early Republic serials, but then so did George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.

A load of crap? Dave Stevens had given credit to commando Cody as the inspiration behind the rocketeer. To say it’s a rip-off is a cop out. Hardly a rip off. Dave Stevens rocketeer comic definitely stood on its own. For crying out loud, the movie credits even state its inspired by commando Cody. What high horse do you think you’re sitting on?
