Underrated! This movie is to me among the best comic-to-live adaptations. Wild colours, set designs, action - and The Kid, also the awkward Tess-Tracy relationship, shown with true heart (haha)
One piece of childhood I just couldn't forget.
Still the greatest surprise I've ever enjoyed at the cinema. My Star Wars, it made me want to become an actor/filmmaker
super underrated movie, Pacino was great as always...
They all did such a good job. Cuz even though this got mixed reactions, it will still be remembered for its visual style
Al Pacino was the perfect choice for Big-boy.
heck they all were.
I remembered seeing the theatrical trailer for this movie on the video of the Disney movie Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
They need to get this on a bluray for special features!!!
Love this flick. Just watched it
I watched it on Blu ray and enjoyed it.
Actually, Mr Announcer dude with familiar voice, Batman is the world's greatest detective. 🤓 😅
I get the feeling that this movie was deemed a failure as I remember as a kid the advertising for the movie was huge and then it pretty much disappeared.
I get the feeling that they expected to make much more money then it did
In actual fact it did better than Disney expected. They anticipated a massive flop & expected it to make around $18million in the US & in the end it made Ten times that, around $108million in north America.
@@rogerrambo4172Who created the special and visual effects of Dick Tracy(1990)?
No interview from Al Pacino?
Story/character-wise, the film is one of the most boring fares you'll ever watch (with the exception of the gangsters).
Visually, it's one of the most gorgeous comicbook movies ever made.
I would _kill_ to see a Golden Age style Batman movie done just like this, with the outlandish makeup & colors.
Batman's villains wouldn't exist via Bill Finger who created them without Chester Gould's Dick Tracy inspiration. The cinematography in Dick Tracy was handled by the same gentleman who did Apocalypse Now and if that level of detail was in the DC universe, that would amazing.
I’ve always wanted to meet the cast one day?
Two hours for hair and makeup. Oh, Ed O’Ross’ hair was blonde for “Itchy.”
William Forsythe’s hair for Flattop…you know the rest!
Warren Beatty had to have known that the movie was going to be good when the daughter of chester gould saw the makeup of the rouge gallery
Music:Danny Elfman(1990)
Lyrics:Stephen Sondheim

Who is the voiceover announcer in this?
I swear William Forsythe was made to play Flattop.
He has just the right stare and demeanor.
I was fascinated with him as a kid. And still now.
One of the most impressive villain i've ever seen.
The whole movie is magical to me.
