the blast makes a good recovery boat because of the prop steering system .build a pvc fork for it and use it to rescue the spartan when it flips over . theres a video of my blast rescue rig on my channel.
The Jet boat is my recovery rig because there is no prop for the lines to get stuck on. Really don't like how L-O-U-D the blast is. Tried to replace the brand new parts to see if I got a lemon, but nope, still loud. Even called Traxxas, the rep watched the video, and said that's how loud it is. Thinking about gutting the system and putting in brushless.
Did you ever figure out why the blast was so noisy? I just got one and it sounds the same. Almost like the drive shaft is out of balance. Also, I knew that the lake looked familiar, I grew up in Coos Bay and spent a lot of time on that lake fishing.

There is not, it is from the coupling system. I tried several and called traxxas, they said it was supposed to sound like that🤣 I told the guy to find a new job if he thought the blast was supposed to sound like that 🤔. He didn't take to kindly to that and that was the end of the call lmao. Don't buy the blast buy a spartan, m41 or a proboat instead. The blast is complete garbage, the esc doesn't have lipo cutoff and are so far outdated as well.

Not the shafts, this was the first run, there's something wrong with the boat. I have a dynamite grease gun and greasing it did nothing unfortunately. Thanks for the comment, it is very important to grease the shafts every run you are correct though😃
Have you ever played with the Majesty 800S RC Boat? I have. I think the Traxxas Blast has the identical 550 motor. So, I feel your pain on ruining a peaceful morning at the lake. 😔

Sometimes pumps when captivated with Air will make noise like that. Wonder if there is air in cooling system.

That sounds either like a bronze/copper coupler as their way too noisy or if the boat has a solid shaft it needs plenty of grease

This boat sucks. Do not buy. Doesn't seal. No power. No reverse. No self righting. Expensive for a mobile anchor. Do not buy.
