- CN 3027, CN 3158, and running as the mid-train DPU is CN 3077, lead a freight north up CN's Waukesha Subdivision. This was filmed at the Aurora Road crossing, just north of Ceder Lake, WI. Well, I've been wanting to catch this crossing literally all summer, and I had an opportunity to do so. I had no idea what was coming, but set up anyways. The train itself was pretty boring, 2 ET44's leading, with another ET44 in the middle. Tier 4 GEVO's, nothing spectacular. It was just nice to catch this crossing in action. It's the last crossing on this line that's gateless, along with having the last mechanical bell. Although the bell doesn't sound very good.
Nice catch! Man that safetran bell has gotten worse. Now it really sounds like a cowbell. It beats the Griswold bell that was at Potter rd in Milwaukee. Wont be too surprised if a Siemens E-bell finds it way on top of that signal in the near future.
I caught a train at Potter Road a few days ago, and the bell is now a GS Type 3. That video should be out on Friday if your interested.
@@SEWisconsinRailfanIve known about the GS type 3 replacing the Griswold for a bit now. As much as a bummer to see it go. I'm not so surprised that it got replaced to begin with. That gong was flat. Plus being a sub that mainly consist s of NEG and WCH bells for it's crossings, I don't mind the GS type 3 being here. The first one on the Milwaukee sub that I know of. Correct me if I'm wrong. Can't wait to see your video on it!
He's cruisin'
Indeed. The timetable speed is 50 MPH through here, but trains barely hit that speed through here.
