I am Chinese. I feel sorry for those negative commends towards Chinese tourist bad behaviour, its really hurts me not just because how people think we are but also for those bad behaviour itself. But I believed majority of Chinese people are friendly and well behaved especially the young generation as we are. We do respect different culture and religions.
BTW , I visited Thailand few times, I think people are so nice. I really admired at how wonderful Thailand is.
If you, local Thai people did offend by our Chinese before, I sincerely apologize for that.
I have been travelling overall the place, people are awesome no matter in Europe, Latin America , Africa ,Asia etc. But sadly sometimes we do experienced being raced and prejudice. I knew how badly it could influence people’s opinion towards that country.
Finally As a Chinese , I welcome everyone to visit China especially my home town Shanghai.

Where i live (Romania) actualy chinese people have a good reputation because in the 80's China and Romania were very close and i remember that in history classes Chinese history was a big portion of world history and as big as ancient Grece and ancient Rome. Not everywere China has a bad reputation. Uneducated people have no ideea what knoledhe China gave us and because of a few bad drivers people generalise an entire nation.

I have many encounters with mainland Chinese tourists, in many different countries/places that I visited. Those encounters were mostly bad experiences...loud, cutting queue, rude, bad restaurant manners throwing rubbish on the street and indiscriminate smoking. Sure there are some very well behave Chinese tourist, but those in tour group are the worst of the lot.

I had good European friends in Pattaya whom had lived in Thailand for 40 years and spoke perfect Thai. You will never get to know Thai people on a friendship basis, no matter how long you live there. You will always be looked upon as a source of money and not as a person. Thais think of their culture as the epitome of civilization and you are beneath them. Go interview as many Thais as you want, but they will not tell you the truth in front of a camera.

You can’t be good 100% maybe something that they don’t like and it depend on place you stay too is it a good environment? people have good side and bad side same as Thais they are human. Thailand is very freedom country in the world they don’t bother other business you can do whatever you want if you don’t make people be in trouble and of cause Thailand isn’t for everyone to live if you don’t like it just leave no need to stay that long if you don’t have happiness.

We can see in this video how proud Thai people are , Thai people are kind but they tend to be too Nationalist and lack of open- mindness toward Foreigners . we never know what they truly think .. because for Thai a smile can have different meanings or interpretations . I think it is hard for any foreigners to get into their culture, even though we are making some efforts for integration as they do not open up easily .
They also worship Money too much i think it is the main problem in Thailand , everything is related to money .
However it is a beautiful country , the food is food and the culture is deep , mysterious and interesting to discover but i will laways prefer so far Indonesia which is for me the real Land of Smiles ..

I know that not all Thai people truly like tourists and I can understand. A whole lot of tourists behave like shit there and don't even try to learn about our culture or learn how to behave before going there. I live in Switzerland and was born to a Thai mother who raised me in a very Thai manner thus I'm familiar with the culture and language (except reading). Most of the people I know here that travelled to Thailand only think there's the life of the party and everything there is so cheap etc. but no knowledge about our culture at all...

It may have changed since I was there in 1963 and I would love to go back and find out. One experience; On a Sunday, my I, my wife and 4 month old son, took a bus from Athens to the end of the line. It was a village about 2 hrs. from Athens. When we got off the bus an elderly woman came up to us and asked if we had relatives in the village? I said no and she said, come home with me for lunch and meet my family. That has never happened to me anywhere else in the world. Yes, visit Greece! I've been living in 'Thailand for the past 7 yrs. and I wouldn't recommend it.

When I hear a foreign language for the first time, all that I hear is this utterly chaotic, incoherent, unpunctuated jumble of exotic sounds (not that the speakers are chaotic, incoherent, or unpunctuated, but nonetheleas, that is how I perceive the language). Suffice it to say that the subtitles really helped.
I also enjoyed the heterogeneity of personalities that were represented, especially the leather merchant with the long hair and cowboy hat.
I would love to be able to learn the language of all the places that I travel to so that I could converse with the local populations and question them for hours about their lives, beliefs, worldviews, and cultures. It would be very interesting and illuminating indeed.

I'm Chinese. My friends and I tried to behave politely before we went to every country. We obey traffic rules we see traffic lights we give tips we don't spit we don't talk loudly. We thought the world out of the China must organized as some people saying. But when we were in the UK, no one wait for traffic lights except our Chinese students. Racists shout at us while we are walking normally. When we were in France and Italy, we saw the ground full of butts. When we were on the train around Europe, we can often hear some Americans talk loudly and they don't even care about others are sleeping and reading. See, I can tell you more bad things I saw of other countries. But I know every country has good and bad people. Narrow mind people are proud of what they generalizing. And I feel so lucky seeing people hate Chinese. Please don't come to China because you never know how wonderful life we are living.

Immigration is just the scapegoat because its easy to blame external forces. Also It's official France has a higher standard of living and better public services. It's sad to say it but the UK is too blind to see it's has fallen behind.

Noni says the Chinese drive bad, cause accidents, and traffic???? She is describing THAIS, not Chinese tourists....unless of course she meant the THAI-CHINESE (Bangkokians) people who own and run Thailand.
Typical Thai response. Never ever take responsibility for anything or any wrong doing. Instead, blame it on someone else. Noni's words mean so much coming from a person in a country that still thinks it invented the car. Most folks went from the water buffalo to the car. Most are just holding on dear life for the ride. This is why THAIS drive bad, cause accidents, and my personal favorite as Noni clearly states, "PARK WHERE EVER THEY WANT."
*Where did these people get their statistics from to prove it's the Chinese? Have you ever seen it in the news or anything? Have you ever seen in the media, "Chinese causes accident" or any facts to support that?
*How about an interview asking foreigners what they think about Thais. That would be a good one.
Some of these people in the video (Noni, especially) are on drugs. Then again lack of education comes to mind.

+Mooncat747 education....? i dont think that its important in life to know who drives bad or not XD. I dont know how chinese or thais drive since i dont watch out for that when im in thailand , but there ARE a LOT of news that mainlander chinese behave pretty bad in other countries (such as being very rude etc) and thats news who you see everywhere when u search for it. I dont and never think that ''everyone'' or almost everyone of ANY country is bad in any type of way but i do see a lot of misbehavior from mainland chinese people in thailand and korea (since im half thai-korean and i work in both thailand and korea a lot i know mainly from whats going on there). And btw ....chinese mainlanders are on 1st place of the most unwelcome people in thailand even taiwanese and chinese people who are born and raised in thailand mainly say that.

    • @Mooncat747
      @Mooncat747 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

+HalfThaiKorean1990 It's important if you live and drive in Thailand because these people drive like there's no tomorrow. The happy Thai smiles and friendliness all end once a Thai steps into a car. They lose all inhibition and every thing is centered around themselves. This is why they won't even stop to let a pedestrian cross the street. This is why they never give way to let you merge into traffic. This is why they drive like it's the Indy 500 always trying to get ahead of the other guy like it's some sort of competition. They tailgate constantly, always driving with their fog lights on, opposite directions on the highway, etc.
Here are the deadliest countries with automobile accidents, along with the number of fatalities per 100,000 residents.
      1. Namibia (45)
      2. Thailand (44)
      3. Iran (38)
      4. Sudan (36)
      5. Swaziland (36)
      6. Venezuela (35)
      7. Congo (34)
      8. Malawi (32)
      9. Dominican Republic (32)
      10. Iraq (32)
*Now. How many of these accidents do you think were caused by the "Chinese" and how many by the Thais?

I love Thai people and visit often. I find them to be very kind. And yes, some Farang are embarrassing. I would say Australians are the worst as they are loud which is not appropriate in Thailand with Americans next. Be happy, kind, mellow, learn a little basic Thai and respectful to the culture and your trip will go very well.

'I think mixed' should really be 'ethnically mixed' or 'mixed heritage' it doesn't make sense to just say 'mixed' in English from the Thai ลูกครึ่ง which means 'half blood' or someone of more than one ethnicity, but great video, thanks

My experience in Thailand as American has been horrible. I've always been polite to everyone I meet, I always say please and thank you and try to smile, but ive been refused service at least once a day in this country for no reason, thai people always give me dirty looks, never smile, i thought this place was the land of smiles, its the complete opposite. Reminds me of being back in new York. What's happening to this world? . The only ones that act "nice" are the taxis and tuk tuk that want to scam me. Oh well, it is what it is

If you want the locals to really like YOU, here are five things you must DO:
    1. Learn the language.
    2. Observe the local customs.
    3. Be polite.
    4. Spend money. / Don't be cheap.

I'm thai, and I'd put being polite and add being respectful on top of the list. Nobody likes entitled brats. Learning the language helps, but we know our language is difficult to learn....just learn to speak' hello ... thank you ...delicious'. In Thai and that'll be more than enough to win locals' heart.
