It's very good, also stars Huge Laurie, Tom Hollander and Olivia Coleman. People talk about it basically being his audition to play Bond.
The part in episode 2 where Loki was in the TVA Archives was filmed in the Atlanta Marriott Marquis hotel. Other productions have filmed there like Hunger Games and Manhunter, but more importantly, it's also one of the five host hotels for DragonCon every year. DragonCon is one of the biggest general geek fandom conventions on the east coast and is held ever Labor Day weekend. DragonCon 2021 just finished, and of course there were dozens upon dozens of cosplayers as assorted Loki Variants. And the Oshkosh RenFaire was actually filmed at the Georgia Renaissance Festival on the outskirts of Atlanta.
"I just want Loki in everything." I have been having that same exact thought for a long time now. I also need to figure out why he gets more and more attractive each time I look at him.
The very first REN Faire was in 1963 in Agoura, California. Today that same Faire is called The Original Renaissance Pleasure Faire and is held at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area, a United States Army Corps of Engineers’ Facility and a unit of County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation System in Irwindale, California.
If you liked this, you should look into the *LEGION* TV show from 2017. It's a masterful show, very weird and insanely good, probably one of the best show around. It's about mutants from the X-Men(ish) (but not really, but it is, but not really), but it's not MCU or related to the X-Men movies, it's its own thing on the side. Beware of spoilers, that show is bonker and mind bending in the best way possible, and has (especially later) the best example of that retro-futuristic esthetic you liked in Loki. Think like the best of Wanda, Loki, Inception, and maybe some twists and turns like Twelves Monkeys or Fight Club sprinkled upon. Strong interesting characters, love story, great esthetics and cinematography, all around one of the best one around. Only 3 shorts seasons, it's not a heavy commitment.

I know right!! When I first watched it I passed and had a mini celebration haha And bi representation is so important since there is so much bi-erasure and biphovia even within the community! That was huge moment (tho it's only been a throwaway line so far; I hope they actually make something of it in season 2! I'd hate for it to be a sadly common "see! His name is Laufeyson ever since he realised he was the son of the frost giant King, Laufey. Originally he was called Loki Odinson but now knows that isn't his real name. Norse names were not gifted or taken, they were matter-of-fact. If Laufey was his true biological father, Laufeyson is his true name, whether he likes it or not
Yeah Odin says "Laufeyson" when he admits that Loki's adopted, but it's a quick throwaway line so it's easy to forget (I had to rewatch the scene in another video).

@@alexkramerblogs Yeah I understand that, I don't think there's a rule that ever makes it precisely 10 minutes though, that's just a myth among TH-camrs. Which makes the enormous on-screen countdown clocks on some channels a complete waste of time. eg see th-cam.com/video/1PvjRIkwIl8/w-d-xo.html
@@bobblebardsley I had thought I had seen some documentation on the 10-min length, but apparently it's a Mandela Effect/pruned branch. The more you know! Thanks for the clarification!
@@alexkramerblogs I love Mandela Effects, I'll definitely think of them as pruned branches in future :D
i just realized, they told Loki, the avengers thing had to happen. But, he, is an avengers consequence too.
"I was gonna make a pun about 'lamenting' to be here, but it was just sad."
16:30 I am calling it: a Nat Gold cover of “I need a Hero” would top the charts!
When I woke up this morning, I was just thinking about Nat starting her journey into different time-lines. Great minds are alike.
I don’t understand how some people still don’t understand how the time traveling works yet. Those who grew up watching Dragonball Z understood this kind of time traveling immediately with the Future Trunks arch.
Small explanation, really not important _at all_ but, "how did she make all the lights red?":
She didn't; she just used all the energy in the building to activate the portals, probably put the entire neighborhood out of power for a while. The store went into emergency backup lighting mode, short while later either the grid stabilized or a generator kicked in and replaced the power supply so the original lights turned on again
This comes at the perfect time. I‘ve just watched through the mcu for the first time and finished Loki two days ago. Loved it so much
There are a lot of different Loki variants. There’s even a dolphin version filled with glorious porpoise
You didn't...🤦♂️
@@garethpendlebury7996 I think he did that on porpoise...
I have to admit.. I've been having a terrible month - probably the most difficult and scary time of my life. Early last month I had a sudden headache and collapsed, fell unconscious and stopped breathing for a period and so far haven't been able to find anything wrong. I've just been so terrified and lonely, and suffering in silence because I dont have people around I feel comfortable breaking down and being that vulnerable around - and the intro of you doing the finger thing honestly made me chuckle and feel just a smidge better!
I’m so sorry you’ve been suffering. I really hope you’re able to get some answers soon!
i like their renaissance fair reference because i've been to the Bristol renaissance fair outside of kenosha wisconsin which is only a couple hours away by car. it hit close to home for me, literally.
You should watch The Night Manager, Tom Hiddleston being a spy in the illegal arms trade, it's just a short 6 ep limited series, based on one of John Le Carre's novels. It's very good, also stars Huge Laurie, Tom Hollander and Olivia Coleman. People talk about it basically being his audition to play Bond.
Great mini series!!!
Came here to say the same exact thing! The Night Manager was a fantastic series!
I'd LOVE to see Nat react to this, though the tension might kill her.
It's worth the risk, I think.
Yes please natlie
Its a greeeeeeaat show
The behind the scenes for this series was great. I think you would enjoy it once you've made your way through the show.
And the Oshkosh RenFaire was actually filmed at the Georgia Renaissance Festival on the outskirts of Atlanta.
for 6 weeks i stayed up every tuesday night until 3am to watch this. i loved it. i realllllllyyy hope you like this show🤞
I just finished the series, and I'm satisfied with the whole thing.
The "It's a mystery to me" line made me laugh when talking about Thor as his first appearance was in Journey into Mystery.
Not to mention the 5th episode legit being called that.
I love how Nat goes into these series completely blind. Had no idea Owen Wilson was in this. Just love how she jumps in the deep end.
+1 for the green light background. Loki is my favorite character, but the series was a bit of a slow burn. Still love it.
We need more slowburn series. Most of the best ever made are slowburn.
Best series so far
She knows much much much more as a first timer than me watching it for the first time!!👏👏👏👏
"I just want Loki in everything." I have been having that same exact thought for a long time now. I also need to figure out why he gets more and more attractive each time I look at him.
Please watch season two it is the best!!!!!
I can't wait for you to watch What If and Shang Chi. The latter is gonna be released for streaming on 18th of October, I think.
And black widow too
Or better yet, watch it at the cinema the way its meant to be seen
@@adamclifton29 Well, yes, but it depends on whether Natalie would rather prioritise seeing it as soon as possible or making a reaction video to it.
Really loved the retrofuturistic mise en scene. Soundtrack is gorgeous as well.
We're here!!! You're gonna love Loki, really great show!
20:40
Fun fact: this scene with candies on Asgard was improvised by both actors
I've been wanting to watch that is it on Disney+ yet
@@urbent3147 You should, it's very very very good. I would advise avoiding any spoilers, especially if you're not that knowledgeable about the comics. Keeping it blind and fresh offers the best experience.
Loki is my favorite character too and this series totally does him justice. Loved it. Cannot wait for part 2!
I’m so happy Natalie is getting caught up with the MCU!!
Yeah! Finally Loki!
The scene with the plane from episode 1 is a real event. Someone calling themselves DB Cooper hijacked a plane and asked for a couple million dollars. They got it and the FBI tracked the plane. At some point during the flight Cooper jumped off and the money floated to the ground but the man disappeared. Nobody knows what happened, but I guess it was Loki
lol... i think she knows ... she did mention it in the video... around 12:00 mark
Renaissance Fairs have been around for a long time. The Minnesota Renaissance Festival started in 1971, for example. I went multiple times in high school and college, and we dressed in garb in college because many of us were SCA folk back then.
Yes it’s time for Loki 😁
So happy you finally got to loki!
Ahhh I wish we could've seen your reaction to when Sylvie asks him if there were "would-be princesses or a prince" in his life and he says "a bit of both", Marvel's first bisexual character!
I know right!! When I first watched it I passed and had a mini celebration haha
And bi representation is so important since there is so much bi-erasure and biphovia even within the community! That was huge moment (tho it's only been a throwaway line so far; I hope they actually make something of it in season 2! I'd hate for it to be a sadly common "see! Representation" performative moment)
omg I just woke up thanks for blessing me with this vid Natalie
His name is Laufeyson ever since he realised he was the son of the frost giant King, Laufey. Originally he was called Loki Odinson but now knows that isn't his real name. Norse names were not gifted or taken, they were matter-of-fact. If Laufey was his true biological father, Laufeyson is his true name, whether he likes it or not
Yeah Odin says "Laufeyson" when he admits that Loki's adopted, but it's a quick throwaway line so it's easy to forget (I had to rewatch the scene in another video).
@@SergioLeRoux Also people forget because Loki calls himself Odinson in the end as well, on purpose.
TY for finally tackling Loki. Your insight and reactions are always welcome.
History Fact: Pompei was never touched by fire or lava. It's too far away from the volcano. It was coated in ash, which is why it's so well preserved. Everything was ash-mummified.
It makes me so happy to see how appreciative Natalie is of the MCU...she once knew nothing, and now she's super invested. Love this journey
Loki as winner of the Tour-de-France would be an interesting timeline to visit. :D
Omg Finally, I’ve been so excited for you to watch this
I watched 'Thor: The Dark World' recently. At that point Loki was directing them toward the engine that powered Asgard's shields, not toward Thor. Did Loki's action lead to Frigga's death? Yes, but no-where near as directly as Mobius makes out.
YES! So excited for this.
Watching the Loki’s again, still as funny 😂
Get this lady a Loki crown 👑! Hair and personality fit so well haha!
I love this show my favorite disney+ marvel show can’t wait for season 2 cannot believe sone people don’t like this show.
FINALYYYYY!! I've been waiting for this one! :)
Thor comes out monthly as a comic book. There’s tons of content there. More likely the situation is how many does Chris Hemsworth or Natalie Portman want to do.
Not to mention Journey Into Mystery (the earliest Thor comic series) was one of Marvel’s first. Thor’s been around in comic form longer than Iron Man, the Hulk, or just about anyone.
I agree on the being loud thing! When i get excited im loud. So often when i explain something im proud of im loud. And if im out with family for instance and were outside like getting lunch and i get interrupted and told to get quiet while explaining something im happy about... happy turns into aggravation quick.
Loki season 2 please
FINALLY ! i was so excited to see you react to this since you said loki was one of your favorite marvel caracter
Pretty sure Nat was the most upset about Loki than almost anything else in Infinity War+Endgame
Been waiting for this reaction, great job as always 👍🏼👌🏽
if you love tom's acting (duh), please check out his 2016 series the night manager. i would love to see your reaction to that masterpiece!!! he won his first golden globe for that one.
Yes pls he's amazing in that show ❤️
FINALLLYYYY! YOU ARE GONNA LOVE THIS SHOW!
it would have been cool if they showed us some funny easter egg scenes in that 'greatest hits', like, they showed the D.B Cooper bit, but what if they also showed the bit where loki turns into a snake and then stabs thor, or when he turns thor into a frog lol
I have been waiting for this one for a long time now.
