    Any thoughts on the Schecter Sunset Triad models? All hype or actually awesome?

      @@SonicDriveStudio I don't think I can afford a new guitar right now, but this definitely makes me want to study the wiring behind it and mod one of my current guitars to get that kind of sound 😅

    Oh, I hadn't noticed before, the plastic is transparent enough that you can see the copper coils. That's kinda cool.
    What I don't understand is that humbuckers work by each coil bucking the hum of the other. With 3 coils, you're adding hum that has no reverse phase to cancel it.

    • @jacobsmith1877
      @jacobsmith1877 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is true and I wondered the same thing. It gives you more gain, but should also give you back 50% of the hum

  • @varyagace
    @varyagace ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Incredibly heavy sound from the triple coil, but also surprisingly versatile with everything else! Would be a lovely guitar to own. It's like if a super metal 7-string baritone had a baby with a Tele!

    After having my guitar stolen and going through a bunch of crazy stuff, my life is finally somewhat back to normal, except for my guitar. Today i freaked out and went to guitar center and this is the first guitar i picked up. I know i like schecters, and i was really interested in the pickups. I had a damien 7 before and have played an omen and a diamond, but this one feels a little more homey to me, because it is different and unique to anything ive played before, yet extremely nice and useful. The price really surprised me even with the somewhat simple visual design. I got it for $700. Grabbed the new spark 2 modeling amp as well. The staff actually didnt know anything about the guitar, they said they just got it in, hadnt heard of it and hadnt had the time to look into it yet. It was like fate. I absolutely love the guitar and the amp they are awesome and im having so much fun with them.

    Grounding noise on a lot of guitars is because of the finish on the bridge where they are usually grounded. Clean a spot back to bare metal and reground...

    played one at Guitar Summit this year and it was just a really mean looking, sounding and playing guitar for a fair price... so even if it was 'just hype', it still is an awesome guitar imho

    Most or at least a large part of the Indonesian-made guitars and basses that have a "mahogany" body or neck use in fact, nyatoh. It is a local wood (therefore cheaper) with resemblance to mahogany in the grain and color but is lighter in weight and more resistant to warp and dents.

    I think a single humbucker in the bridge location may be the best overall design, as it simplifies dialing in great tones, particularly when paired withe the power of modern Modelers and Preset versatility.

      What did you think of that third triple coil clip? Pretty beefy eh?

  • @xNachtmahRx
    @xNachtmahRx ปีที่แล้ว

    I wanted to order one and the sick new sunset extremes...but the triple coil models seems to be a 2024 preorder..+600 more expensive here in Germany because of import and 3rd party costs...sad. It's one of the very few Schecters under 2.5k that come with stainless steel, and I don't even try guitars without stainless steel anymore, since I don't support artificial inflation or guitars, and music in general, being gatekept by companies trying to sell instruments for the same prices as cars and luxury goods.
    But, bolt on is good for easy replacements, if it ever gets damaged. People always talk about sustain but never let ring notes long enough to make use of the neck-through, unless you play doom or doom death metal. I actually killed one neck by falling over when my leg fell asleep, so I can understand why people would want bolt-ons even at higher price ranges

    the biggest downside of this overly specialised guitar is that you are just bond to this pickup forever because regular pickups don`t fit in it..and if you have to replace that 3 coil thing one day schecter is charging 300$ for that replacement part 🙄
