Marty's wife Nancy passed away in 2010...but you would never know it by his live performances..as seen here on Dave. If you get a chance to read his autobiography, it's laugh out loud..until the final chapter about her passing. So touching and tragic..He is the very definition of 'the show must go on'..One of the true comedic greats.
So the only calendar years in which Martin Short didn't appear with Dave were: 2010, 2003, 1999, 1994, & 1986. 29 out of the 34 years Dave did late night TV, Martin was a guest. I'm guessing that isn't the record, but it's damn impressive nonetheless. For my money, he's the best guest ever.
Thank you for these! I also want to watch Robin Williams and Billy Crystal's appearances on David Letterman's show, but unfortunately, YT has taken down most of them. Any chance you can upload them? You'll have my gratitude forever.
In the May 6th interview, Marty's last appearance on the show, when naming the SCTV cast, he left out Joe Flaherty. The only one he leaves out, is the one that helped start the whole thing. *edit* And the unsung heroes of Season 6 Mary Charlotte Wilcox and John Hemphill.
I could listen to Martin Short for a long while.

It makes me wonder how much of the real Martin we ever see.
Martin Short's appearances on Dave's "Late Show" were always Epicly hysterical! I love it! Thanks for sharing.
You can tell that Martin and Pappy were great friends.
This is an outstanding collection !!!! God Bless you for making all of these !!!!
I've seen many of these over the years, but never noticed Martin Short's nickname for Dave as "Papi" until this collection. Thanks Don!
It took me almost a full year, but I finally finished watching all 12 of these videos. Thank you so much for the hard work you put in to editing them.
That’s one full year you’ll never get back. :)
I just watched them in two weeks. I feel fucking weird now.
@@Barnaclebeard Me too. Am thinking changing my alarm ringtone to what they play every time Martin was introduced.
Dave: "If you don't take those chances?" Martin "Well, then you have a very successful career" 😅😁😂
Nobody like Martin Short, a true king of comedy!
Never liked him, then I watched SCTV, now I love him
GOAT!
SCTV was so good. It felt more sane, more professional than Saturday Night at the time.
I miss The Late Night Band...no one can match their sound. Paul Shaffer is an amazing musician and producer. Letterman is unsurpassed.
Thanks Lori you are so right. Always thought an album done by him and the great band would have been wonderful.
@@sveerdlov1917They actually recorded a CD called "Worlds' Most Dangerous Band".
So true
"Oh, Bumkiss...." 🤣

his wife died in 2010, so that's probably the reason for that year.
12 of 12 gets a 10, if you ask me.
nw
luv these people x
With The World's Most Dangerous Band

I’m no longer able to upload additional Dave-owned or -licensed content.
@@dongiller that's a shame. Appreciate your reply, thanks.

We love you, Papi!
I never noticed how much "Raining Men" sounds like Leonard Cohen until just now.
So Short but long on humor. Humour?
He borrowed a tie from Donald Trump.
