@Jeff Hensley I found the video that you referenced, and I took screen shots of both houses. I don't think it's the same house. The windows are different, the door is in a different place, and one appears to be made (at least partly) of cinder blocks, while the other one looks like hewn stones, possibly reclaimed from another location..? They *may be* in the same geographic area, but I think they are two different buildings.

in warmer weather if.when you return ... lower the portion in front of the door several inches and fill it with gravel or sand ... the type of stuff that lets water move by easy ... and make a clay door foot to keep the water out ... then when it rains the water can run past the door easy on its own ... . I bet the Old fisherman will enjoy the surprise when he comes back to the place ... new hinges ... some fire wood ... a little cleaner than usual ... etc ... that to me is what one should when borrowing another's shelter ... leave it better off than when they arrived ... that might just mean leaving a load of wood for the next person ... or as much as needed to make the place cozy and dry
I hope you were able to go back and fix the roof from leaking before everything rotted from being wet. It is such a cute little place. So glad you fix what you can to help out.

Вы выбрали совсем плохую погоду для ночёвки, когда внутри лютая сырость. В мороз намного приятнее! В этом году землянка выдержала испытание морозом -27’!, согрела меня. Это при том, что по дороге я под лёд провалился. Он нестабильный из-за сильного течения. Если будут вопросы про земляку, пишите. Или про домик в заброшенной турбазе.
О! Привет. Мне показалось что тут внесены изменения после посещения Дмитрием. Как минимум с печкой кто-то поработал и проконопатил ее. Убежище классное, но крыша течет сильно. Если буду силы и время, то попробую летом что-то с ней сделать.
Летом тут КОМАРИНАЯ ЖЕСТЬ! Ещё лесная соня внутри отсыпалась тут прошлым летом, а ночью выходила гулять)) Я ей даже дверь приоткрывал, чтобы могла выходить-заходить свободно))

Winter is my favorite time of the year. I love the icy/ snow scenery there. And wow the little stone cottage/ cabin shelter is totally awesome. Any homes built out of stone works are more beautiful lookin. Great idea how the heater stove built into the wall. It so cozy and romantic. Yeah, I definitely think that if you are able to get back to this place in the summer, you and your brother and/or friends should put a new roof on this cabin. It's a nifty little house, and should probably be repaired and preserved.
I haven't been able to sleep all night.. It's 6 AM over here in Texas, and this video has helped me to finally relax!!! PS: My favorite thing about these videos is when you sit down to relax and eat a warm meal.. You should do a Steak next time along with the mushrooms and cream that you made in a video a while back!!! It looked very appetizing. Cheers mate!

Чтобы не скучно было да и вдвоём не страшно Илью собой возьми, вдвоём подремонтируете димины земляники у него их три штуки. Их все нужно навестить.

It would probably be good to replace or repair the roof, anyway. That way, if anyone needs shelter, it's dry inside.

If I've ever seen an excuse to get away from life, it's that house. That took a lot of work. Beautiful craftsmanship and setting.
Stoneware pots and bowls are an interesting alternative to metal cookware. Much heavier of course but they retain the heat for longer periods.
