So thoughtful of you to provide us with LEGENDARY entertainment like this. I appreciate you so much! LOVE playing this in solitaire and with my wife while we are traveling.
@@richardtolleson683, I was only 2 years old in '77 but wish that I could've met them ALL (ALL of the regulars, semi-regulars, & not-so semi-regulars), too! 🤗
Then she said ear buds and someone questioned it, I think it was Patty Duke, she said "ear buds" in a very questionable tone. Today that answer makes sense.
I do believe Richard Dawson had some kind of extrasensory perception cause he was too good at this. Hopefully someone examined his brain at the autoposy to see if his was different somehow.
Hi there. I believe you are right, especially after watching an episode where the contestant answered "Basket" to the question "Blank Weaver" and Richard Dawson got it correct by writing "Basket" instead of naming an actor like Dennis Weaver or someone. He was a truly amazing and gifted Actor / Entertainer. Greatly missed . Peace Now...😊
Yes, Richard was very good at this, having matching 42.1% of his H/H questions to date. But what about Brett? She has matched 42.0% of her H/H questions to date, but people often say she's "bad" at it. Hmmm... Fannie has matched 48.3% of hers. Charles has matched 48.5% of his. Betty has matched 50.0% of hers... (Complete stats in my separate comment.) So if you look at the actual stats, Richard is solidly mediocre compared to his colleagues.
Honestly I think Marc might have been better just to drop the music altogether when RD said he hated the music instead of continuing to let him think after 1005.. I don't know..
nowadays, i don't think anyone would think in terms of these remarks; but Gene's ''gone there' a few times b4..i find it hard to see expressions about the back of a bus particularly funny when i've also heard what GR said to Earl when he was on camera: Earl asked Gene what he wanted him to do, to which Gene responded 'i don't know - maybe you could tap-dance'..it does add up and paint an apparent picture..Gene may be good at joking, but underneath, he's seething about a great many things...
Gene's an old schooler from the days when racism was so ingrained in the public consciousness that it didn't even have to be mean spirited, it was just there. I doubt he was ever a serious racist. There are plenty of times when he does seem to be irritable, but I don't think it's over any racial issues. If Gene were alive today, he'd obviously have to refrain from making so many casually racist or sexist remarks.
It's odd. I mean, they can hold off putting on a male challenger until there's a female champion to avoid having two men playing at the same time (except for once in the past), so I don't see why they couldn't postpone introducing a challenger with the same name as the champion for a game or two until there was a different champion.
Champ: Tie - A: NEVER (6 matches) Super Match: ROSE - $500 (pick without hearing celeb answers) One-on-One: VEGGIES - Buzzzz (yeah, I couldn't think of anything) Challenger: Round 1 - B: NOSE (second choice BUTT (would've had 6 matches - OOPS) (no matches) Champ: Round 1 - A: RUNNERS (2 matches) Champ: Round 2 - B: A FORK (no matches) Super Match: DRESS pants - $0 Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (pick without hearing celeb answers) One-on-One: THINK fast - Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Yup, still SUCK at this lmao.
I hate it when the stars try to be funny and making up a joke answer when a crucial round is trying to be won. Dick Martin really screwed up during that second round about taking cheese to the moon and saying mickey mouse when everybody else clearly said cheese. Damn it!!!
Look, I’m certainly no Dick Martin apologist, but I’m 99% sure in this case he just meant “mouse”-which, while perhaps not the definitive answer, is still a perfectly reasonable one nonetheless-and added “Mickey” to be cute.
Is this the first time both contestants had the same first name? I also wonder if there was ever a time when both contestants matched all six celebrities in round one?
At 4:34, Richard appears to be very annoyed at Charles' comment about his rose bud response being lovely. Perhaps it went back to Charles comment about where Richard's son buys his shirts.
Brett's so SWEET when she gets "teared up" over 'Ugly Edna' (& probably 'Dumb Dora') questions, etc.,+ she LOVES anything about little babies, too!! 😍🥰
Geez, Richard, calm down already. You got the right answer even after all of that vamping! I think a break of a few weeks would have done him a lot of good at this point.
Mark Konzerowsky Match Game was only recorded every other weekend. What was the recording schedule for Family Feud like to make Richard melt down like this?
As far as I know, the taping for FF was pretty much back to back with MG, which explains the fatigue. Obviously, if you have to choose only one show, you should go with the one you're the MC on, so Richard started asking to get off MG around this time.
That vamping by all the regulars started getting on your nerves , but Richard always tried so hard - when he left , that was it for the show - it would never be as good as it was - but it lives on GSN and youtube , etc. - thank you , MGP for uploading these for our viewing pleasure
I don't say it enough but thank you @MatchGameProductions for putting all these episodes together. You are a legend!
I agree! 💯

If Fannie had said earbuds in the present it would have been the #1 answer.
Richard became a master at misdirection. He had 'breakfast' from the beginning but played it for all it was worth! He was fun.
I've come to expect the old Dawson fakeout, but he really fooled me this time
if that's what you want to believe, go for it 🙄
Hard for you to see Mr. Dawson come through with an amazing match; get over it!
Fannies explanation of hush puppies is true. I looked it up on Wiki.
Those of us from the South already knew that. No need for Wiki for us.
wow , RD took awhile , but he matched a hard one
its so cute how richard puts his hand on the top of his head when hes thinking lol, he doesnt even realize hes doing it!
You're right 😂. I never noticed
Fannie: "Soap" Buds 🤣
Then she said ear buds and someone questioned it, I think it was Patty Duke, she said "ear buds" in a very questionable tone. Today that answer makes sense.
5:01 Fannie predicts the future
👂 buds
After bombing with SOAP BUDS Fannie yelled out EAR BUDS. That meant nothing back then but today it would have won!!!
Ear buds was another term for cotton buds or cotton swabs or Q-tips.
Did you hear Patty Duke yell out "ear buds" in a questionable tone?
Charles Nelson Reilly is HILARIOUS!!! It's funny 'cause it's true.
Gene and his $200 suit.
I lol’d at roller skates. XD
See, Richard cares about the contestants and always wants to match them so that they will win the $$! 💙
Not all the time, it depends what mood he’s in.
I do believe Richard Dawson had some kind of extrasensory perception cause he was too good at this. Hopefully someone examined his brain at the autoposy to see if his was different somehow.

Ikr he had a special something that he was able to match some of the strangest off the wall answers. Amazing
HAHAHAHAHA I was shocked that saint Richard matched, but he's NOT matched more than he's matched

I think this was the longest Super Match that Richard ever had, as I don't remember the music running out on him before he finished his answer!
Think fast is a term we used to use as well.
Amazing match with breakfast!
That was amazing, Richard and Kathy.
No cooler person ever lived than Richard Dawson
You'll never convince me that some panelists don't intentionally sabotage certain contestants, especially those that have won twice or more
really unfair tiebreaker. 1 with 1 answer, the other with multiple
Fast: before the answer all I could think of is " going"
Honestly I think Marc might have been better just to drop the music altogether when RD said he hated the music instead of continuing to let him think after 1005.. I don't know..
Charles' hair 🙈 HUH. But i do dig the shirt
Why does he often have a weird wad of hair on the back of his head?
The roses were given to ME and I deserve them.
Can you imagine a game show host today saying "let's get out the whip" and then pantomiming lashing a black contestant?
Yeah, I was like "Gene, don't go there!"

Yes.
everybody is a racist
Kathy looks like Eric Stoltz.
So weird you say that. I just recently saw an add on TH-cam for one of his movies.
Two contestants named Kathy. I wonder if this will cause confusion when it comes to the Audience-Match.
And they recently had 2 named Sandy.

boots was as good as any of the answers given
I LOVE Horses, so that question about the Kentucky Derby was FUNNY!!! 😂🐴🤣

Think fast
That's what I thought, too! 😉
I thought of that as well
The 1st answer that I thought of was GOOSE! 😏
Geez, Dick... Mickey Mouse??? 🤦♀️
17:15 the fun begins.
Whoa, Gene. Pretty kinky with that mic cable.
And yet it was really funny
Fannie giving the 2023 $500 answer for blank buds Ear Buds!
Richard Dawson is AWESOME!
🙄
I hate it when the stars try to be funny and making up a joke answer when a crucial round is trying to be won. Dick Martin really screwed up during that second round about taking cheese to the moon and saying mickey mouse when everybody else clearly said cheese. Damn it!!!
"Wine" would have also been an acceptable answer but Dick was just being, well... a dick.
Yep! 😒
Dick was a jackass, I hated when he was there
And yet pretty much all of the celebrities still match the contestants & try to help them win money,
Look, I’m certainly no Dick Martin apologist, but I’m 99% sure in this case he just meant “mouse”-which, while perhaps not the definitive answer, is still a perfectly reasonable one nonetheless-and added “Mickey” to be cute.
I completely drew a blank on “Cooked _____.”
It's never not funny for me when the march or stripper music starts up, LMAO ^_^
Roller Skates!
Thanks Richard I appreciate the winning answer( hot pants)

It was correct of Gene to give two inflections. Richard almost overthinked it.
Richard took so long the music cart looped. Never heard that before.
As far as I know, the taping for FF was pretty much back to back with MG, which explains the fatigue. Obviously, if you have to choose only one show, you should go with the one you're the MC on, so Richard started asking to get off MG around this time.

Has anyone seen the episode that Betty is talking about at the end of the video at 2:50?

Brett drunk agn right from the beginning. Never shuts her mouth.
She's probably been like that since she first appeared on Match game
That show was one of the good ones. Sometimes I do believe Richard was telepathic. But he does make some pretty corny jokes though. Lol
