James, Love the dedication & enthusiasm for whatever genre of photography you may take on, as shown in this video with you suffering for your art on top of Green Gable. I think in photography enjoyment is everything. If what you do (even if it is in harsh inclement weather conditions)... brings joy & gives you a sense of achievement, then that is great. So keep enjoying taking photographs. Merry Christmas. Thank You for the videos... In whatever genre you choose... And All The Best For The New Year 🫡👍... Loving The Art
A test for anyone! A test not many would of carried on. Belting video, the real world of fell walking! Slab shot and light, just loved that! Hope youve recovered! P.S. the sheepo shot was Boudoir all day long!
Love waterfalls could sit and listen to them for hours. Reason I shoot them bit of sense to the madness 😂. Great point about street I shoot in urban not for people just to get a sense of the character of the place. I rarely include people in my photos 😂. Maybe silhouette an odd time to give the image scale. Probably class it as urban landscape photography.. Great video
Nice to see you out and about shooting in the countryside / landscape . Thanks for sharing and creating. 🙏✌️👊❤️👊✌️🙏. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and all the best for the New Year 🏔
Hi, James. Another great video, man. I don't like pigeonholing either. A nature photographer, street photographer, or portrait photographer. All these ways have one thing in common, photographer. And we photographers take pictures of things they find interesting or beautiful. I totally agree with you on this, friend. But what a beastly weather up there on that mountain. But because of that weather, it becomes a beautiful environment. What a beautiful place you are. I enjoyed it again, my friend. I wish you and your family all the best for 2025 and hope you will make many more beautiful videos as a photographer. Warm greetings from the Netherlands.
I'm glad to hear someone else say they don't understand genres! As a musician and photographer I've never understood genres in either area, to me both music and photography are just one continuous spectrum that encompasses everything rather than a bunch of separate categories. I find the concept of genres outright bizarre, they just don't make sense to me.
How to open up a can of worms lol. I'm doing a presentation for a local photo club "I am a Photographer, not a Genre" I also judged a Street competition for the same club but I gave them a brief way ahead of time and quoted Joel Meyerowitz "It's about the public". Expressions, conversations, cafe life, people engaging with other people etc. What it wasn't was people walking through a patch of light, somebody with an umbrella in the rain, people from behind (creepy) unless there is good reason. All of which I have done but it is not street, it is Streetish! So open up on a genre and give it your own title. Countryside= mountains, landscapes, woodland, flowers, details, vistas, sheep, country shows. Coastal= seascapes, boats, water details, waves, buildings, people and so on. Glad to see you are ok after your tumble and that your R6 is ok too. Liking the moody shots, and Sour milk gill looked impressive. And thank you for dragging me away for half an hour of Christmas duty.
For me, photography is what ever floats ya boat. I like to get out with me camera and if I like something I take a shot. Got me self a second hand, Nikon D3300 and loving it. Bit of a change from me Canon 1300D. Easy to use. More importantly fun to use. Whatever "genre" you like as long as it's fun, it's good. Great stuff Mr Burns. All the best for 2025.

Thank Mark and of course you are correct. It’s important to build up the ‘fun’ category
Happy Christmas James. Will watch later, just editing some photographs from a Xmas parkrun.
At least you got out Steve! Good man 👍👍
Tough old day on the hill that James!
It shows half the story I tell thee
It doesn't matter what you call it. If it comes off it's a photograph. Period!
Exactly Barry!👍👍
Camera in hand, hand on human, human in street, street in urban environment, urban environment on earth, earth in universe, universe in multiverse..
I got lost after camera 😳 Thank you
Sheep + surroundings = Environmental Portrait?
Mmm…. now that’s a new one 🧐
Its all Photography why complicate it with pigeon holes?
Who needs pigeon holes?!!👍
The trouble with street photography is that there are too many people in it. 😉
They do tend to get in the way, I agree
