I just love having some Maple Farmer syrup with my fresh milled ancient grain organic Einkorn cooked cream of wheat, with organic golden flax seed and organic sesame seed.
I have the CDL Precision Tapper. I like it, however I really like the fact that the Exact Tap can be put on & taken off of any drill. One of my dills are now dedicated to the Precision Tapper so I can’t use it for anything else.
Sap was running pretty good here in the North East Kingdom of Vermont! I just have a little yard hobby, with a handful of buckets! Will be boiling tomorrow for sure! Thanks for the great content. :)
Sure is! Our snow will be mostly gone by the end of the week, except for the mountain caps. Doesn't stick around long when its 50 degrees, its been a rough year for the sled owners. Good luck with your sugar season. Look forward to watching and seeing how it turns out!!@@MapleFarmer
Nikki, love your singing (ringing) hammer. I have 2 Estwing framing hammers that do that.😃. After banging nails all day with them and I’m a little punchy, I’ll “bang” out a tune or two.😂👍
Love your videos Nikki! Boy you can definitely tell the change in sound/tone when driving in the tap, there’s no mistaking when to stop hammering. Can you tap anywhere on the circumference of the tree in relation to the compass or do you favor a certain side as in north, south, east or west? How is your son doing?
It looks like you're not using the quick-connects on your drops in these woods. Are you planning to leave them out? It would be nice to hear how the Exactap compares with the older Precision Tapper. Great video as usual!
I plan to do a video comparing the two! I just need to grab my videos from last year using the pt so I can make a video since I didn’t use it this year and our trees are all tapped!
I noticed you drilled straight into the tree, would an upwards angle allow for more sap or is that just a myth? Also what do you think about the CDL spouts that have a 30 degree angle to them?
Hi Nikki, This is a real stupid question. During the intro at 0:38 I'm assuming that you all put those "rock steps" in for erosion control or is that a natural feature? I've never been up that way but I've heard it's fairly mountainous was just curious if that was an natural feature. Thanks and you all have a great week!
These types of tools are designed to help stabilize the drill to prevent wobble when drilling a hole to ensure high-quality tap holes which helps to get a good seal and prevent leaks
Do you prefer it over the precision tapper? I’m definitely buying one for next season and was leaning toward the precision tapper but I haven’t used either.
1 drill bit for an entire season typically. The exactap prevents them from breaking. For batteries we usually use 5 and 6ah so we start with one and keep one on us for when we run out. Usually 2 gets you through the day
We like the south side as the sun hits it first which means the sap runs first on that side, however we just tap where there is a clean area on the tree!
Nice tool. Thanks for sharing it with us 😊
Thanks for watching

Your videos are always informative and interesting. Thank you Nikki!!!😂😂😂

We have dedicated drills for those also because it’s a headache to take them on and off 😂

We are boiling right now! This weather has been a rollercoaster of temperatures. It’s wild

Near the end of the video there are a lot of beautiful shots with the sun getting close to the horizon giving a golden tint to the air.
Glad you enjoyed it
Where is your farm, Nikki? Thank you for a great review!
Thank you for watching! We are located in Western New York. Wyoming County

Thanks again for the video.... Also, the peppermint infused Maple Syrup is excellent. God Bless
Glad you enjoy it!!
Nikki, you make excellent videos!!!!!😂😂😂😂
Thank you for taking us for your workout in the woods! Hope the maple syrup business is good to you this year. Farming is hard work.
I hope so too! Thanks for following along!
Do you do harvesting to clear out dead & unhealthy trees ?
Nice video great for the youngsters to learn where that great tasting syrup comes from.
Yup! It’s alot of work!
is there a reason you tap that high on the tree? does it flow better higher? or no difference?
At what temperature does the sap in the lines freeze? Do lines crack often?
Fantastic video as always. What kind of videos donyou have on finishing syrup with the hydrometer etc?
I'll try to make a video on this tomorrow!
I noticed you drilled straight into the tree, would an upwards angle allow for more sap or is that just a myth? Also what do you think about the CDL spouts that have a 30 degree angle to them?
what kind of taps are you using? Are those 1/4" thin walled or regular 5/16?
Nikki, you are the most beautiful maple farmer I know!!😂😂😂

Natural!
Cool tool but why not use a simple stop collar on the drill?
These types of tools are designed to help stabilize the drill to prevent wobble when drilling a hole to ensure high-quality tap holes which helps to get a good seal and prevent leaks
Do you still haul sap in an old milk truck ?
Yes we do
I eas wondering if any wildlife has broken or pulled down lines
Not for us, usually it’s trees and snow! Although I hear that moose cause some line damage.
Great video Nikki …. You should of became a model your absolutely beautiful 😊
Good natural lighting from the sugar house windows makes a HUGE difference. Lol
I’m looking to visit some sugar houses for over the next few weeks! If you are interested in me coming to visit please reach out!!
We have an open house on Saturday!
I wanna be there and I wanna be there right now. This is a commercial of course.
What species did you log?
Do you have many lines damaged by deer moving through the woods?
Nope! Once in a while they will chew on the lines but they don’t cause much damage
Do you prefer it over the precision tapper? I’m definitely buying one for next season and was leaning toward the precision tapper but I haven’t used either.
Both have their pros and cons. I’m hoping to make a break down video that will compare them!
how many batteries and drill bits do you go through on a busy day?
1 drill bit for an entire season typically. The exactap prevents them from breaking. For batteries we usually use 5 and 6ah so we start with one and keep one on us for when we run out. Usually 2 gets you through the day
How do you like it compared to the precision tapper ?
I’m hoping to do a video comparing the two so consumers can make an informed decision as they both have pros and cons!
How deep do you drill into the trees?
2” on large trees. ~1.5 inches on smaller trees
good job
Thank you!

P.S. Looks like you are running out of Daylight!!! LoL
I was!
You are always going out tapping, breathe girl, breathe, all that tapping might tap you out, it's a joke!
