Man i love drivers taking upon themselves to suggest changes and solutions!!! They care about making this good!! Feels like hitting the local go kart track and organizing a race with friends
the problem here was that it was Rain in SAUDI ARABIA they have no drainage system on their streets because they don't need it. if it was any other city that is not in the desert it wouldn't be that much of a problem.
That insight to these kind of talks are awesome and i literally can’t think of any other Motorsport that delivered such a deep insight into a talk between drivers and the race director. Great work formula e keep it coming!!
@@RomanHerbig The drivers asked for the briefings to not be recorded so they could have more privacy. A lot of the things being discussed during the F1 driver briefings could be easily used by the media to spin stories. This video shows a safe discussion without any info that could be used against the drivers, so I assume it's much more appropriate to broadcast.
FE has been hit with the 2 only weaknesses that this qualifying format and street circuits have. Weather changes and bad drainage systems on the street. Feels bad man
I think this conversation kinda gets to the fact that the group format qualifying has never been that great of an idea...not if it's by overall times. If you literally took the two fastest guys from each group of 5-6 or something, and then your superpole was just the fastest 2 from each group or whatever, then it would be fairer...but when it's for overall times, but broken out by run group, it just disadvantages anyone not in the last run group. One lap qualifying is great fun to watch, but why are there groups when you just go by overall time? Use groups if you need to run the track that way, and then advance drivers to superpole by group position, not overall time!
Damn, rain caused all this chaos... Hopefully we'll see the cars on a proper tracks soon. I'm sure the fact that these are street circuits contribute to difficulties. It's great to see the drivers so involved. They care so much for the sport.
Its great that the drivers can have this! In other sports, if the drivers try and change what happens, every1 in the officiality just goes NO! (eg. indianapolis 2005 formula 1 gp) but now we have the drivers, willing to race and ready to go but they just want to be safe! Thats all motorsport could ask for!
cant watch the race so i will pirate it cuz i wont buy a dish tv service for just one race every 2 weeks i will pirate and get as many people to pirate it with me as i can Formula E did this to themselves cuz they are to lazy to get a team of coders to build a website that can stream it live!!! down with ABB down with Formula E!!!!!! i used to be a fan

"You don't want somebody hit the wall and all stop again" Mortara clearly didn't hear this.
Formula 1 had SpyGate, Indianapolis, CrashGate, Team Orders, Schumacher Monaco 2006, LieGate, etc.
Formula E has rain.
cant really blame them, those street circuits have awful drainage and those michelin all weather cant keep up with all the poodles
Plus it's in the desert, so you normally don't expect rain there
Shumacher is good in monaco m8. He got pole with mercedes in 2012

Formula 1 tried it with summarys of the driver meetings a few years ago but the drivers interfered.
Roman Herbig are u talking abt the driver briefings which was last year? im so sad they didnt resume it for the 2018 season 😭

The OG Formula E drivers having a meeting.
Its literally like the council of elders
Hopefully the drivers can get some time on the circuit. Although this generates good conversation.

One shot is crap
Formula E a differnet kind of racing series where the drivers act like grown ups.
Wow! That was a brilliant moment to capture. 3 Champions 4 race winners. Any one of those guys should run the FIA after retirement.
Is great to have a view into the hand on approach the drivers have in the event. Great stuff.
I agree. I always love behind the scenes more than the actual product. For every conceivable production.

Is that Katherine Legge @0:38 ? What is she doing?
she was driving in the support series, so she was also interested. the qualifying of the I-Pace trophy was cancelled completely.

They serious with this? Taking advice from drivers LOL.
First
the race director of FE is boring....
It's not his job to be exciting. It's his job to make sure the race is safe, fair, and by the rules. He's not Charlie Whiting.
