    Glad to see the IS300 going along despite having to reset the Issues. I’m about getting ready to install my engine and follow your vids since they are helpful to me to get the car going.

      Get after it bro! Yeah the FIC is old and definitely has its moments. However overall for $250 I can’t complain. It works great 90% of the time to be completely fair. I think if you want to splurge on a piggyback ECU, grab the EMU black!

      That’s what I’m aiming for currently. Rewiring a boomslang harness for it used to be for an emanage ultimate. Hopefully later down the road to DCT trans swap and HTG controller.

    On my ef sedan with a d16z6 and factory air box I used two 45° silicon couplers (amazon) and a scrap piece of intercooler piping to join them. It looks clean and simple.

    Thanks to the great IS community and your videos, I'm almost finished my trans with the shim mod. Can't wait to start piecing parts over winter. How much power you making now on the IS?

      Hey thanks for the support! I hope you decide to stick around for the long run!
      I haven’t had the car on the dyno yet. I tried to make an appointment at a shop near me but they don’t allow recording and I want to get it on video for you guys. So I will have to find a shop that will allow me to record.
      I am only making ~4-5psi max and that’s in 4th gear WOT. I would estimate that I’m making ~230-235whp right now on 4psi through the auto. If it were manual it would probably make another 10-15whp or so.
      It definitely feels much quick than it was stock. And with the shimmed transmission it shifts great now!

      @@Knownworldwide That's amazing! I love seeing the progress and the fact that you put everything together for the majority of those who don't want to go 100% all out on parts and whatnot. I also love how everythings pretty much in detail and everything is included. I will 100% keep up with the progress especially since your videos are fairly new unlike lots of other guys. 👍

      @Knownworldwide and is there any other piggyback you would recommend. The e manage ultimate is impossible to find and the AEM F/IC-6 is expensive.

    • @Knownworldwide

  • @vincejordan2715

    Any big downsides to using an EMU black vs a Haltech or AEM? I’m a factory manual and just had my EMU black delivered today, but wondering if I’ll be missing out on any nice features the other ECUs have

    • @Knownworldwide
      @Knownworldwide  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh no, the EMU black as a standalone with a factory manual transmission is great! However in order to use it with my automatic, I would need to buy the ECU (~$1200) and the harness to run it parallel with the factory ECU which is another almost $1,000.
      Then when I convert to manual that harness will be useless to me. I could be missing something in what’s included and what I will actually need but that’s what I’m getting out of it.
      Did you order just the stand alone on its own? Comes with a flying lead type harness?

    • @vincejordan2715
      @vincejordan2715 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Knownworldwide I ordered it with the separate plug n play harness as well thinking that id need it in order to retain the factory air conditioning and whatnot, but I may have been wrong 😂

    • @Knownworldwide
      @Knownworldwide  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vincejordan2715 Oh ok, you probably do need it in order to retain factory HVAC controls and such. What did the stand alone come with? Does it come with a wiring harness or no? Just curious.

    • @vincejordan2715
      @vincejordan2715 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Knownworldwide doesn’t look like it comes with any sort of wiring harness, just connectors and terminals for maybe making your own harness? Not 100% sure haha. But definitely no wiring included in the box

      Awesome man ✅ yeah i did mine without soldering car is running fine fuel trims are good on idle wot and regular driving under boost. But i am getting heater codes malfunction etc but no lights? Do you get those codes while soldered?

    • @Knownworldwide
      @Knownworldwide  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jpabloarroyo6757 If I’m honest my long term fuel trims are garbage because my down stream o2 sensors are just dangling out in the open air. They are hooked up so I don’t get any heater codes.
      Check out my latest video of the car at the drag strip. This show cases a pretty random issue I was having with the car. Runs pretty good overall but for some reason it was not cooperating when a floored the throttle on launch.

  • @305pyroheads
    @305pyroheads ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey man I herd if you are not wanting a lot of boost you don’t need a computer or piggy back to run the car. Someone told me I can just slap the turbo on and go. Is that true?

    • @Knownworldwide
      @Knownworldwide  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TL;DR
      Yes you could, I don’t recommend it.
      You could get away with it on maybe up to 4-5psi. Naturally any fuel injected car will go into open loop during WOT (wide open throttle) and these will normally be around 12-12.3 AFRs under 4-5psi. For me it’s the ignition timing that would worry me.
      I like that I can retard timing when building boost with the piggyback. Plus if you make over 5psi you will get MAF range codes and that will put the car in limp mode.

    • @Knownworldwide
