    If it's presented simply enough for even me to understand and follow, then there's no higher praise. Great lesson.

    Thank you very much for this beautifully clear explanation of how to fit a braided loop. There were instructions on the reverse of the packet but watching this removed the fear of cocking up my new floating line. Brilliant

    Thanks for putting this video together, was my first time adding one of these to a fly line and it worked a treat. Great tip for the silicon tubing too. Cheers.

    Fantastic video, and extremely useful for a beginner like myself. I was advised to buy these loops but had no idea how to attached/setup! Thanks for posting 👍

    nice clear video, i do it almost the same way except i use the shrink tubing instead of the silicon sleeve, saves all that messing with glue!

    Good video, but I never use the loop anyway. I cut them off of the fly line and leader and tie the leader to the fly line on using a nail knot.

    Another great tip ,, the amount of time I have wasted trying to get that silicone tubing over the frayed end of the welded loop

    I was advised to strip off the outer part off the fly line to expose the core then insert that into the braided loop, I was told that the core is stronger than the outer plastic.

    • @timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769
      @timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No need . The braided loop is designed to sit over the plastic . If you strip it down the sleeve will be to big and will cause slippage

    A little tip if you are using superglue and get it on your fingers - dissolve some table salt in warm water and them rub it between your fingers - works every time.

    Would be good if you could get these braided loops with a double loop on them so you can use it on your welded loop.

    Great tip on fitting the silicon tubing, but If the braided part is lovely and tight as you say why bother with the silicon tubing.

      Because when wet the braid will slip in the cast , its essential to superglue and cover with the silicon tube to form a seal to prevent this ... Thanks for watching

    Awesome informative video. Could I put this on the other end to enable me to attach my fly line to my backing line?

    I’ve read that if you cut the welded loop off of the end of a floating line then you should seal the end of the fly line with superglue before attaching the braided loop. Is this correct 🤔

    • @timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769

      No mate not needed. In all of the hundreds of loops I have removed and replaced I have never sealed the end of a line .. People blame tips of floating lines sinking with a braided loop on not being sealed properly and somehow taking on water . The truth is the only down side of a braided loop is they do take on dirt , especially when bank fishing , and this can make them sink. So a little rub with mucilin now and then brings them back to life.

      @markbrace1504 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much for clearing that up. I already put muclin on my floating fly line so no real change for me then.

    Tanks for that video! Would you be comfortable with having that braided loop for salmon fishing? Cheers!

    You cut that braid way to short and you cut the silicon tube to short that connection you have fitted will pull of the end of the fly line fairly easy.

    • @timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769
      @timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not at all . You don’t need all that braid .. look at the Roman Moser loops they are only 3 inches long. The longer the braided loop the more it will cause a hinge , crest disturbance when it lands and also sinks pulling the fly line down .. So I am afraid you are completely wrong on this one ! But thanks for watching .

    Why not thread the silicone tubing BEFORE cutting the braided loop in half?? 🤔 That way IF it frays a bit, you end up cutting that part off anyhow. 🤷

    Tim can you explain to me the benefits of using tippet rings pls ….

    • @timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769
      @timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are easy to see and to replace droppers without replacing the whole cast . But that’s it really . I don’t like them . They add weight to the leader . The fish can see them in clear water , it’s another knot which means another weak point and they are relatively expensive compared to the three turn water knot .

    The only Thing worse these loops are the little barbed needle. These things are horrible.
