The ending is so sweet. I was very close to my sister, and I bought a pair of those not-3-d glasses of Hank's because she actually couldn't see 3-D. If you've ever taken off the 3-D glasses during a movie, you know it's not a pleasant experience. The glasses opened up a whole new world for my sister, and it was wonderful to be able to take her to those type of movies again. She's been gone for several years now, and the glasses are something I will always appreciate for bringing back such a simple joy.

Aaaaw, inkwell, your comment just reminded me of last year's p4a - which was my first after many years of watching John and Hank because the timing had never worked out before - and how you kept reiterating those self-care reminders in the chat and how lovely and caring and friendly it all was 🥰 I'm very much looking forward to this year's p4a and reading your reminders and knowing there are really caring people out there 💚

As someone who is colorblind and can't see blue, 3d movies do not work at all for me, so whenever my family went to see a 3d movie, i saw a lot of red outlines. Thank god Hank invented those 2d glasses because i don't have this problem anymore
1:06 I will forever be grateful for Hank for having invented those! As an epileptic, for the past 12 years I've finally been able enjoy almost every 3D movie with my friends without having to fear a seizure after (or worse, *during* ) the film. This was especially valuable back when theatres here would always just offer a 3D version instead of a 2D one. All the best from Germany! ❤
The world needs more of this. Two men just gloating about each other for no reason other than the fact that they love and think the other one is absolutely awesome. In fact this should become a TikTok challenge and call it the Hank and John challenge. We're men pick a friend or family member and they just make a TikTok just gluten about that person and how much they mean to him. For me, I would have to pick my friend Mario who just passed away this last Friday unexpectedly. He was fucking awesome. One of the sweetest most kindest most gentle and powerful people you would have ever met in your life. With most people you could say either they love them or hate them or they're somewhere in between and I honestly don't know a single person that didn't like him. Every person I ever introduced him to or that I know of that he met absolutely loved him immensely. This world is a much darker place without him. And I wish the entire world would have gotten known him and maybe just maybe we would all been a little bit happier. I know at least for me he made me want to be a better person so I can only imagine if their world had gotten to know him how much of the BS we're going through now would suddenly vanish. RIP Mario, you were one of the most badass motherfuckers I ever knew I am going to miss you immensely. Of my friend I will say this of all the souls I've ever encountered and all of my journeys, his was the most...human.
Oh would you look at that it’s my favorite sub genre of John video, the “this innocuous video is actually just an excuse to talk about how much I admire a specific loved one” For real though, I do love these videos, and I love that this community also loves being able to share how deeply we care about those around us. Thank you!
Watching this a year later and getting to the "what disease does Hank Green have" question. Oh boy, that's not as complete an answer as you all thought it was.
I felt very lonely after my UC diagnosis but during a crying jag I remembered that Hank had it and rewatched his videos where he talks about it. Thank you Hank, for discussing UC and making a miserable disease a little bit less lonely.
one thing i’ve noticed as a vlog brothers fan is trying to guess when i see a person if i need to describe john green as hank greens brother or hank green as john greens brother, for example, i described john green as hank greens brother to my sister but i described hank green as john greens brother to my english teacher. interesting stuff
I really felt that pause/struggle at "I like you so much." I've never seen someone else emulate my feelings so clearly about another human. Family or otherwise.
I love my 2-D glasses! I'm a teacher facilitator for an educational summer program; we often take kids to venues like museums with 3D movies. They make me nauseated, but since leaving campers alone in the theater is frowned upon, 2D glasses save the day!
Don’t forget the short lived but long loved Your Pants forum!! I met one of my best friends in Your Pants and over ten years later despite the 3000 miles between us we still talk every day. We constantly marvel at the fact that Hank is the reason we became friends 😊

So my workplace praises “entrepreneurial leadership” and I’ve never felt like that applied to me. But thanks for the retrospective John, I think I can very much relate to Hank’s version of entrepreneurship.
"Don't be afraid to take it down a few notches cause I worry about you" my siblings keep hinting or flat out telling me this, yet I don't do nearly as much as Hank does. So I'm gonna tell them to back off until I'm Hank-levels of doing too much 🤣🤣🤣
P4A Sweet Sixteen! A little part of me is nostalgic for when the (secondary) goal of P4A was to take over the TH-cam Homepage with P4A videos so that we could (do the primary goal,) get money to a bunch of cool charities, but the way it is now is even MORE awesome and it really makes my heart so incredibly happy to see and be a part of this evolution over these 16 years 🥰
John, thank you for your advice to "take it down a notch"! since watching that video, there's been a couple of time where someone has said something to me online which I would be inclined to start a petty internet argument over. your "take it down a notch" advice came back to me in those moments and stopped me from likely ruining my mood by participating in a dumb internet argument

I find it hilarious that podcaster is one of the things john forgot until he went on Wikipedia, and john literally participates in that one 🤣😅
"participates" is a strong word, given how much he's been Ed McMahon-ing recent episodes
@@hoodiesticks Hey-oooooo!
The John green video about Hank green that I didn't know I needed today 😂 DFTBA!
The way you talk about and appreciate Hank is the exast same way I appreciate and *like* (love) my brother. I have never told my brother how cool I think he is though because we weren't really raised in an environment to do so. You make me want to change that.
This is quality bit commitment
this last sentence about "take it down a bit ... i sometimes worrying for you" resonates. its sometimes spoken but thought every time i meet or talk to my "little" brother ...
and, thx for your other works. i finished "das schicksal ist ein mieser verräter" this week and surely will read again in english this year.
These brothers are like something out of a movie. Too damn smart, too freaking perfect. Literally grew up with them with crash course and never knew who they are until last year
Nerdfighters, your self care reminders for the P4A: Make sure you have plenty of snacks and hydration on hand. Clean your screens before the start of the stream. Take time to plan your P4A video if you're making one. Set your budget now/over the course of the next month so that when the time comes, you can donate responsibly! and if you have any major self care things that you need to do before the start of the p4a, make a list, break them into chunks, and get them done!
See you in the chat! DFTBA!
Aaaaw, inkwell, your comment just reminded me of last year's p4a - which was my first after many years of watching John and Hank because the timing had never worked out before - and how you kept reiterating those self-care reminders in the chat and how lovely and caring and friendly it all was 🥰 I'm very much looking forward to this year's p4a and reading your reminders and knowing there are really caring people out there 💚
+
@@anniesoernym I am so glad you had a good first experience! I love getting to be a part of P4A weekend for people, and I know that the whole mod team and the whole chat cares so, so much. I'm excited you're joining us again this year! There is such a beauty in seeing our community come together to make awesome happen, and the way we look out for each other is one of the most beautiful parts, imo. See you in the chat and best wishes until then!
I just remembered that I got the phrase "totes adorbs" from Hank and the staff who made Lizzie Diaries and use it regularly and get very confused when people don't know what it means.
This hits different now
“ I don’t write about siblings” Anthropocene Reviewed having that one heartfelt speech… 👀
1:38 Oh, this video is 7 months old...
Yeah. It's better now, tho!
Hopefully John's answer is back to being complete again!
Watching this now feels very relevant. I want a follow-up now that John is doing half the jobs. So much love for Hank and his Biggest Fan
Oh would you look at that it’s my favorite sub genre of John video, the “this innocuous video is actually just an excuse to talk about how much I admire a specific loved one”
For real though, I do love these videos, and I love that this community also loves being able to share how deeply we care about those around us.
How sweet is thissss imagine how proud their parents are 🥹 when he said he’s been your biggest fan since he was born 😭😭😭
I am so excited for the P4A!! Let's do this! 🎉🎉
Hoping that later this week we get Hank to answer questions about John
Been here for 10 years, and I've never heart of URLaton before! Hank is truly full of good ideas.
one thing i’ve noticed as a vlog brothers fan is trying to guess when i see a person if i need to describe john green as hank greens brother or hank green as john greens brother, for example, i described john green as hank greens brother to my sister but i described hank green as john greens brother to my english teacher. interesting stuff
omg I love this.
My favorite is when people realize that the two guys from Crash Course are two guys not one guy.

The longest version of “who the eff is hank?” and I love it
I really felt that pause/struggle at "I like you so much." I've never seen someone else emulate my feelings so clearly about another human. Family or otherwise.
I love this Hank Green ad. I love siblings. I so feel the worry for a younger sibling.
I love when John retells stories we have already heard. Over and over again.
There's a reason he keeps retelling them. They don't get old.
John, this video made me reach out to my own brother. I'm not close to much of my family but he is one that I love deeply and need to reconnect with.
Happy Tuesday John!
Happy Tuesday, Ben!
The wholesomeness of these two brothers is adorable.
John's impression of Hank just made my day.
Your impression of Hank is sooo good
Aww this is the purest form of what a love letter looks like - I worry about you sometimes because I like you so much. God I want a brother like this.
We are so lucky to have these guys. My goodness.!
JOHN I LOVED YOUR BOOK THE FAULT IN OUR STARS!!!!!! MY FAVORITE BOOK, THE BETTER OF ALL!!!!!!
I'm into these parallel videos and the possible chaos that could ensue this year along with it.
The pause before he said “I like you so much” is a perfect example of being a sibling
*Sixteen* years of P4A. That's just beyond wonderful. I can't believe it's been that many years.
This was an excellent plug for P4A, and a great reminder to start working on my P4A charity video! ❤️
Finally in a place in life to make a matching donation this year! I am so grateful to John and Hank and Nerdfighteria for the P4A-- it can be so challenging to figure out where to give. Y'all are awesome 🙅♀️
Congratulations!! 🎉🎉 That really is an accomplishment!
I see that brief pause in "because I... *like* you so much." You know you can say you love your brother outside of Esther day, John.
Sincere love between siblings, gets me every time. Best wishes to you both (and all the people each of you love)
You all's brotherhood makes me so happy!
wow, seeing the cover of Ellen Hardcastle really brought some long-ago memories flying back. Wow. I've known you guys for like 12 years.
ITS ALMOST P4A TIME! Truly the most wonderful time of the year.
So excited!
This was way sweeter than I predicted. Also Hank you’re freaking amazing. Also you definitely need to heed your older brother’s advice by taking it down a notch. I know we hate it when our siblings are right but… maybe don’t invent something this year? 🤷🏽♀️ just for one year.
Ulcerative Colitis! I have UC and my brother has Crohn’s and we are 40 and 38 and have had it since 2 and 14. Hank is a fellow guy fighter!
Love both Hank’s and your books. Greetings from the Middle East!
I love that Hank is always learning things. I’ve got the “Learn Something New!” poster from Crash Course hanging next to my office door and try to follow that advice myself daily.
Ahhhh I’m so excited that it’s time to gear up for the P4A! Always a top weekend of the year and by far the awesomest time to be a Nerdfighter
Kinda proud to have been a nerd fighter for so many years, look at everything you guys have accomplished! (Hank specifically in this particular video of course)
Love you both!!! I'm 46, and I started college at 36, and I love to learn. Having the passion to want to know more is incredible.
Thank you both so much for existing ♥️
So my workplace praises “entrepreneurial leadership” and I’ve never felt like that applied to me. But thanks for the retrospective John, I think I can very much relate to Hank’s version of entrepreneurship.
Of all Hank's projects I love vlogbrothers the most.
Hands down the cutest thing I've seen all day
"Don't be afraid to take it down a few notches cause I worry about you" my siblings keep hinting or flat out telling me this, yet I don't do nearly as much as Hank does. So I'm gonna tell them to back off until I'm Hank-levels of doing too much 🤣🤣🤣
I love John just unashamedly promoting Hank to the max! 😂❤️
I love the love these brothers have for one another. And the humour. What treasures in the world!!!!
P4A Sweet Sixteen! A little part of me is nostalgic for when the (secondary) goal of P4A was to take over the TH-cam Homepage with P4A videos so that we could (do the primary goal,) get money to a bunch of cool charities, but the way it is now is even MORE awesome and it really makes my heart so incredibly happy to see and be a part of this evolution over these 16 years 🥰
That was the sweetest video I have seen on TH-cam in forever.
I LOVE this!
More siblings need to do this!
Get on it, The World!
every time John Green makes a video about Hank I end up crying by the end
John, thank you for your advice to "take it down a notch"! since watching that video, there's been a couple of time where someone has said something to me online which I would be inclined to start a petty internet argument over. your "take it down a notch" advice came back to me in those moments and stopped me from likely ruining my mood by participating in a dumb internet argument
