  • Welcome to another maintenance video in the Toyota Landcruiser 200 Series maintenance playlist. In this video Jafffa Adventures services the MAP and MAF sensors on the Landcruiser 200 as well as explaining what these sensors are, and what they actually do.
    There are plenty of other "how to" maintenance videos in the library, in fact there is an entire playlist dedicated to the maintenance of your 200 Series Landcruiser. Check it out!

    Hi, Terry glad to see I am not the only one out there but services his MAF Sensor after a big trip I actually give mine a clean every 10,000 km even if it doesn't need it but the FJ is petrol so I don't have to worry about the other sensor thanks for the video.😀

      Good stuff Ed, I do the same mate, service my MAF every time I do my regular service, which for me is every 500km. Thanks for taking the time to share mate, I sincerely appreciate it 😎👍

    I don't want you to think I'm Karl Pilkington's brother but to be honest and fair I had no idea what a MAP/MAF sensor was until now.
    Further to this, I have just now only realised that we've added a secondary fuel filter to all our LCV8's but nothing to help clean the air.
    The older I get the dumber I become. This is why I will always be a junior assistant. I leave the big decisions to the grown-up's.

      @@JafffaAdventures Yes. Learning means knowledge. Knowledge is empowering. Power gives you options. Options give you pathways. Pathways give you priorities. Priorities give you order and order brings natural justice. Natural justice gives you a sense of place and that then gives you satisfaction in life.

    Awesome vid mate and thank you ... have you ever cleaned your inlet manifold/EGR system on your land cruiser?

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Peter, I appreciate the kind words. I never never cleaned it, but as I noted in the vid I have the EGR blocked off and it’s been that way from about 60,000km. I’m sure there is goo in there, but it’s not as bad as it could be. If the starter motor packs it in, I’ll clean it then. Cheers😎👍

    Hey Terry, would you consider replacing MAP sensor with an alloy option because of the heat behind intercooler ?
    Also would you suggest using a small spring clip to give the small hose a bit more integrity to the sensor?

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The logic I have heard with replacing the plastic MAP sensors with the stainless ones is that the stainless will not break and you can leave them in forever, whereas the plastic ones become brittle over time and can crack. That does not work for me because I believe they are a replacement part (given they have a filter in them that can clog) and should not be left in there forever. I’ll continue to use the genuine ones and replace them every 100,000km. A small spring clip on the hose is a good idea however, as they have been known to come off. That’s my logic anyway mate. Cheers😎👍

    Hi Terry, Thanks for the video. Great quality and very easy to follow.
    On my 200 I have experience a P1248 error which google tells me is either "Boost Pressure not detected" Or "Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Bank 2" Do you think this could be related to MAP sensor at all?

    • @JafffaAdventures
      @JafffaAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Brendon, that is very kind of you to say mate. It’s possible, but unlikely. P0069 is usually the code related to a failed MAP sensor. If your problem is boost pressure related, your car should feel very doughy under acceleration. If it drives fine, I would be leaning more towards an EGR issue. Let me know how you get on so we can all learn from your experience. Cheers mate😎👍

      @@JafffaAdventuresthanks Terry. Was a midnight misadventure last night, but having the video certainly helps. I'll attempt to clean the intercooler at some point in the future too.
      After more reading, lots of others had experienced similar issues as an EGR fault. Some people had a resolution by simply clearing the code, which I did by removing the negative terminal last night.
      Seems to have worked. Car is better seemingly back to normal now.
