    I’ve tried these drills today… I couldn’t even imagine how hard they actually are. Afterwards I tried the double push.. my AVG.speed went from 25km/h to 30km/h… I will do these drills everyday as long as I skate. Really appreciated for providing these golden tips.

    Gotta be honest here, ive had youtube for probably 15-20 years or so and have commented maybe once in that time but i gotta really drop a appriciation comment here. All your videos have completely overhauled and elevated my inline skating on completely next level. I have been skating since i was 15 and i have quite literally reached my ultimate peak in skating at the moment watching your videos. The speed, control and technique now feel quite absurd and it makes me so happy to have kinda the feeling that im flying on asfalt and can easily pass 35kmh speeds on decent terrain and the aws and holy hells when i pass bikers on straights just makes me feel great to have elevated my game. Thanks for your effort to make these videos and improve us mortals to better heights. Thank you❤

    Can you discuss how tight speedskates should be around the ankle? Want to understand how much of an impact it has to the ability to get on the outside edge.

    • @CoolStoryCory

      Same! Everyone talks about how beneficial heat molding boots is but I haven't seen how it's supposed to fit or feel on the ankle

    • @rykermoore4309
      @rykermoore4309 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Personal experience, ankles tight. I was running my old speed boots what I thought was tight. One of my coaches seen that I had play in the ankles and helped me get them tighter and it made a big difference. I since got custom molded that fit amazing and that made an even bigger difference as they fit right and tight.

    Verygood Joey, those are some of the heaviest exercises on the legs. I also practice those moves, but my knees and especially left underleg don't like them so much due to fysical wear and tear, but with 57yrs I don't complain💪

    Very nice, thank you! I need this, as a urban/exploring/distance skater I feel especially on slight uphills that my double push is not effective 😢 there is nothing like skating fast but it's hard to keep it with bad technique in the mid 40's 🥵

    I really enjoy your skating, especially when you're skating around my hometown of Montreal! As a beer league hockey player, I was wondering if it's possible to apply your double push technique on ice hockey skates. You mentioned that the last 3 drills can't be done on ice which I assume is due to longer blades on ice speed skates. With ice hockey skates or ice figure skates, it seems doable with inside and outside edge c-cuts (common in some advanced power skating drills). I wonder if the difference in technique is due to flat inline wheels/flat ice speed skates vs having a rocker radius on ice hockey and ice figure skates.

    • @JoeyMantiaSkates
      @JoeyMantiaSkates  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      You can make these motions on ice skates for sure, especially with a smaller radius rocker, but actually making speed out of that motion is what I don't think is possible. For sure on ice you want to be able to hit that outer edge and use it to build potential energy, but getting it to travel in a way that pushes you forward is where I think you need wheels that are rolling on top of the surface vs a blade thats in the surface. I'd love someone to prove me wrong, I definitely wasn't the most gifted ice skater ever haha

    Thank you very much for all your tips and tutorials. They are very helpful to me in particular. I have a question for you: Can you make a video of the skating technique comparing 4x110 mm and 3x125 mm? Not which one is faster or safer, no. The technical differences and muscle groups involved in each of the modalities. Thank you very much!

    Excellent video ! About the mistake that will live forever, it doesn't have to : now TH-cam allows channels that are monetized to update their videos. If you're wondering if you should monetize your channel, either way YT will put the same amount of advertisement. At least if you monetize you get a small portion back and you get access to better tools

    Joey, are you going to write a speed skating technique book? You could be the Diane Holum or the Barry Publow of this generation! :) Remember those old books? :)

    Hi Joey, when i cross over to the right, the right supporting leg does not want to hold my weight in that microsecond when all of my weight is on one (right ) foot before the crossed left foot touches the ground again. Are there any exercises for that? I can't do one foot yet (it is for middle aged urban person). Thank you!

    I have no idea, but I do not generate speed with these exercises, on the contrary I would be slowed down and eventually stopped after just a couple of seconds...it's so frustrating to watch your videos, because I still haven't understood/implemented double push and it seems I will never learn a thing.
