This is one of the most in depth videos I have seen. Your attention to detail is perfect and I feel like you have every tool imaginable. Great results!
John, I loved the attention to detail. You really gave me some ideas for my garage - because it's small, organization is so important. Every inch counts lol!
Crazy good transformation! Give yourself more credit, "I can't believe I got this ceiling looking so good" ---- dude, you literally redid the entire thing, you should believe it looks that good!
Man… when I was looking for “garage inspirations” THIS is what I was looking for! Damn! 👏🏼 hats off 🙏🏼 Now I need to prime and paint walls, and do all of that. lol
Awesome job!! Love the way you did the door trim, i can't wait to try putting it together on the floor and installing. Can't believe I've never done it that way.
Wow! Looks awesome! Sweeeeet job dude! Definitely couldn’t agree more about finishing a garage. It’s one of my pet peeves seeing folks leave taped and mudded drywall but then never painting. Ugh!
MY GARAGE looks exactly like that MINUS the sheetrock, shelving, fresh paint, lighting, awesome epoxy floor, tools, organization, imagination, and a few other things like being able to safely walk into all four corners without climbing.
I’m fortunate enough that my neighbor has installed hundreds of epoxy floors commercially, and I hired him to finish my one car detached garage. My initial plan was to go with a big box store (Rust*leum) kit, but after chatting with him, I learned so much. We ended up grinding the floor with a simple angle grinder and diamond bit. Now the epoxy will really bond and will not peel up. Didn’t bother to use any etching product; resurfacing with a grinder eliminates the need. Then, I purchased epoxy and color chips online, where I was able to select some colors I really love, instead of basic boring (ugly blue chips or ugly gray chips, take your pick). Then my neighbor recommended we get additional epoxy to make a thicker more durable surface, so after some research I purchased a 100% solids epoxy primer which will go down first, then the 50% solids color coat will go on top of that. I’m going with an off white base and earth tone chips mixed with bronze metallic chips! Walls have been painted a warm off white. Only downside of hiring my neighbor is that we started in January and it’s still not done yet (but , I haven’t been home since December anyway). It’s just as well, since nighttime temps must be above 40 degrees per the product instructions. So, we will finish the floor this month (I will help him & learn from him), and then I’ll finally start setting up my shop/extra living space. I’m super stoked. Oh, by sourcing the epoxy from not-big-box, I also had option for any color under the sun, including hot pink, glow in the dark, and even metallic lava flow-look. I was tempted to add neon pink / black light chips, but in the end decided to stick to warm modern neutrals. I can always add black light/pink decor items, and won’t be stuck with them long after the novelty wears off. I’m very impressed with your attention to detail; I’m like this in lots of ways, but can also be “it’s just a garage, the walls don’t need to be perfect”. My neighbor went through and has patched and sanded the walls, which I think was overkill considering I’ll be hanging a ton of wall mounted storage. Anyhow, he wanted to do it do 🤷♀️. I also will probably build a walled off storage area along the entire back wall, complete with a framed in locking door, because garage break-ins are unfortunately pretty common in my area. Nobody’s going to steal my ultra -quiet $$$ air compressor!!
So you would recommend just pulling tape and rescrewing the ceiling?? Somehow the humidity is causing my Sheetrock to fall off the ceiling. Here I am about to do an entire remodel
Looks great! I'd love to work in that garage. The hollow core exterior door thing is from the 50s and 60s. Its kind of annoying. Def. a good move to replace. Having the floor done is great. I'm the reason we likely can't have epoxy floor. Besides its hard finding bolts, but spill, spatter, and brake fluid spills. I can't see spending the money. Looks great! My buddy did his garage when he bought his house. His is holding up well. He paid for it as well.
Nice vid! Do yourself a favor and use a pole handle when rolling paint, no bending down to load the roller or reaching overhead for top of walls, easier on your body and faster overall
That looks awesome, John, nice work! My garage drywall might be a little worse off than yours was, and I was planning on covering it with thin plywood but now you’ve got me wondering if I can save it after all….
What did you do to repair your peeling ceiling? I have the same thing going on in the house I just purchased and I am curious how I can fix it-- thanks!!
Garage ceiling seams often pop like that in the future even if redone properly. With the heat and cool cycles in a garage, a harder mud is supposed to be used. My garage is the same way but I have too much stuff in it to pull it all out and redo it 😂
Just not a fan of semi gloss on walls haha. The scuffs and stuff I got while hanging the Omniwall wiped right off though with this paint, pretty happy with it
Sitting here with a cup of coffee watching your video and thinking wow, what a great transformation. Job well done sir
I appreciate it!! Really loving it
This is one of the most detail oriented before and after videos I’ve ever seen. Great job man
Thank you!!
Yes it’s “just a garage” but so nice to see your attitude of making things as perfect as possible. Great job. 👍🏻
I can’t help it! Haha thank you!

Crazy good transformation! Give yourself more credit, "I can't believe I got this ceiling looking so good" ---- dude, you literally redid the entire thing, you should believe it looks that good!

Love the garage floor. Only thing is when you drop a screw or clip it gets hard to see. Do they make that floor in a lighter grey colour?

Awesome, sounds like you’re doing all the same stuff! Totally worth it once it’s done!
Nice work...looks really good.

So you would recommend just pulling tape and rescrewing the ceiling?? Somehow the humidity is causing my Sheetrock to fall off the ceiling.
Here I am about to do an entire remodel

None of the fluids will harm these floors man! Battery acid is basically the only thing. So much easier to clean up
Looks really good!
Thanks man!
Incredible work,Well done!
Thanks a lot!
Good video and good doing the hard work. I also have a lolly post in my garage and I plan on removing it prior to having the floor finished.
Smart! Definitely annoying having it there sometimes
Looks amazing
Thank you! 🙌🏼
I wonder if I can make tool holder of wood and then attach to this wall instead of French Cleats
Nice job bro! Good video
Thanks man!
Good job it looks good.
Thank you!!
Looks awesome!!
Thank you!!
Great video. I so badly want to do my garage floors but I use my third stall as my wood shop so i have so many tools and work benches in the way
Definitely a pain having to move everything out!
I'm in the middle of this process. Looks like I'll have to get some quotes for floors. Great video
So glad I did man. Thank you!
What was that sander/vaccum? attachment you were using on the ceiling? Edit! Found it in your description, thanks!
👍🏽👍🏽works great!
The boot model spin move got a good laugh and a like. Subbed
😂😂I appreciate it!
Nice vid! Do yourself a favor and use a pole handle when rolling paint, no bending down to load the roller or reaching overhead for top of walls, easier on your body and faster overall
Thanks! Wasn’t I using one? Lol
Ohh forgot, you can see I took it off after a couple swipes haha, roller I had on was junk. Usually do 🤙🏼
That looks awesome, John, nice work!
My garage drywall might be a little worse off than yours was, and I was planning on covering it with thin plywood but now you’ve got me wondering if I can save it after all….
Was definitely time consuming. I started wondering if it would’ve been easier just to add another layer as well haha. Turned out good though!
Really Nice Job !
Thanks man!
Looks awesome. 👍
I appreciate it! 🙌🏼
Came for how-to-drywall a garage... Stayed for the rest. Awesome garage my man!
Thanks for watching!
What did you do to repair your peeling ceiling? I have the same thing going on in the house I just purchased and I am curious how I can fix it-- thanks!!
Pulled off all the old joint tape and re did it
You mentioned that the door between your garage and house was replaced, was that a “fire rated door “?
Yes
Great job bud
I appreciate it 🤙🏼
Subbed just because I loved your Ridgid cordless vac vid and this video! Looking forward to future videos 👍
Thanks man!
Garage ceiling seams often pop like that in the future even if redone properly. With the heat and cool cycles in a garage, a harder mud is supposed to be used. My garage is the same way but I have too much stuff in it to pull it all out and redo it 😂
Great job!!
Thanks!!
great work
Thanks!
Fantastic
Thanks!!
What are you using on the ceiling at 5:55?
Dewalt drywall sander
looks great. I definitely would have went semigloss in a garage though. If your walls start looking dingy in 6 months, give it a coat of semigloss.
Just not a fan of semi gloss on walls haha. The scuffs and stuff I got while hanging the Omniwall wiped right off though with this paint, pretty happy with it
Great garage. Saw a few seconds of your wood shop floor. What is the material?
It’s plywood in the shop
Can anyone give me a guesstimate how much total this will cost me?
12:18 my favorite part 😜
What white paint color did you use for the walls?
It’s not tinted. Just the regular white base
