Mainland teams have speed but isn't as physical as Hawaii teams. My son went to St. Louis and his DB coach was from Pennsylvania. He couldn't believe how physical Hawaii high school football was compared to Pennsylvania. My son then played D3 football in Cali. He said high school was more physical. Said the boys was soft. He used to get kicked out of practice for hitting the offense too hard. Kahuku was weak this year. Had some good teams in the past

Yes Kahuku plays physical on defense but their offense is years behind. Hawaii teams lack the elite speed. Top mainland teams like Allen Tx, North Shore Tx, Miami Central etc are physical all around and explosive at the skill.

Go Ducks true Kahuku hasn’t won a game in Utah, but still. It doesn’t avoid the fact that Kahuku didn’t have all of their starters playing at this game. Some due to injuries or maybe because they can’t afford airfare to go to Las Vegas. Bingham is a good team no doubt, but losing on the road at Utah don’t mean they ain’t good. You win some & you lose some, that’s the name of the game.

Kahuku wasn't even trying also some of the players were injured from other reasons and they probably couldn't afford it because they had money problems plus there whole team wasn't even there and there original QB wasn't even attending the game and last of all Hawaii is small it looked like our defense was pretty good even with a smaller team that usual.

In Aotearoa we have Maatua tu Taua. These are warriors trained in the art of war, trained to kill. They don't do public displays because they are tapu and everyone else is noa. They do not mix with the public and. They remain separate from those not tapu. They begin training at an early age. They are not entertaining people they are declaring war. You won't see them on TV. Tuwharetoa (House of the warriors of the God of war) are one of the longest trained Maatua in Aotearoa. There are others, but Tuwharetoa are the oldest. Our stance differs from the others who stand high. We stand low because it is easier to explode outward rather than inwards in an attack. We come from the Central Plateau of the North Island. We don't participate in the Matatini competition here, because we make war not entertainment. However, nothing wrong with entertaining to show case your roots. Come to Aotearoa and you will see this same attitude everywhere. Mean haka brothers. Ka mau te wehi.

No, just no. This would so not fly back home in Aotearoa ( New Zealand ). I’m a Māori women, Ngā Ti Wai is my Iwi ( tribe ) and as someone who did Kapa haka ( back home in NZ ) and still participates in whanau function Haka over here in Australia. This is honestly sad to see and making a mockery of my beautiful culture. They showed no mana and heart whatsoever and can tell it’s just for show ( to be flashy for the crowd, cameras and honestly makes me mad ). You wanna do our traditions, you learn them properly or don’t do them at all. You get proper teaching, training and take in the history and why you want to perform that certain Haka to begin with. You learn the meaning and message behind said haka and you perform it with pride. Ask permission to visit a Marae ( meeting house ), these are the best places to learn about our Māori people and ways. It’s not that hard to be respectful to ones culture. Don’t be those people who just wanna do our traditions and not put in the hard work behind it

The mainland poly teams to me shouldn't be doing the it. They rush it. Instead of building it
lets see how well Kahuku High School matches up with Chicago area high school teams here in Illinois. They wouldn't beat them. Students on football teams here in the Chicago area are 6 foot 5 and even 7 feet tall. In the part of the country where Hawaii is, they have no competition vs here in Illinois and the Midwest. We have all kinds of it here. Just like University of Hawaii's football team, they cant beat Big Ten teams. They DO play at Michigan this season and Michigan destroyed them 63-3 last meeting. Michigan will wipe them out AGAIN in 2022.
Kahuku would do very well against vast majority of Illinois teams. People who haven't been around them have no idea how much bigger and stronger Polynesians are than the general population. Build for football. Only thing holding Hawaii back is their small population size but average Hawaii teams are very physical though maybe lacking in speed.
