    to get better sear marks all you have to do is flip them on a different side each time and clean the original spot. when you flip them on the same exact spot it is called a cold spot which reduces sear to no sear

    been eyeballing the Malory grates....thanks for the video

    Thank you for the video. I've loved my cast iron grill. Recently I got a larger stainless steel grill and had trouble getting grill marks. These stainless steel grates were old and in worst condition than the ones shown in the video. So I wasn't sure if the difference was ss vs cast iron or old ss vs new ss.

    1000% Agree! Clean the grill with the next grilling -- 500°f is your friend. Use temp to clean them, and a wood cleaning tool is great for any stubborn gristle. The bristle brush is a no-no; last thing I want is for one of my guest's to swallow a metal bristle.
    Nice review! Good video and thanks for fixing the audio. Grill Grates are the best at searing grill marks. I am a huge fan of cast iron, but Grill Grates perform the best when it come leaving grill marks.
    Love the onion recipe! On my list to try!

    Great video.
    How would you or any other BBQ'ers compare the Malory cast iron gate featured in this video to the sear marks and thermal transfer you can achieve instead with Weber gourmet barbecue system diamond cut designed centre grate insert? (As that is enamel coated cast iron to).
    Is the Webers searing abilities, being that it is a cast iron insert afterall, more comparable or essentially is it the same as the Malory. Or, is the Killa Grilla stainless steel grate in your opinion better for searing than the Weber insert?
    Thanks again.

    The Malory Cast Iron Grates look pretty good. I would probably get those over the others. But, I already have the Craycorts with the accessories and I LOVE them. Even picked them up for my 18" Jumbo Joe. Will probably be the only grates I'll ever need.

      The craycorts are great! I used to have them in my 22 and my 26 but eventually parted ways with one. Which craycort accessories do you find yourself using?

      Do you have the craycort Pizza inserts?

    • @PartyUpLive
      @PartyUpLive 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DannyKoenig73 Sorry for the late reply. No, I do not have the pizza insert. I have two of the griddle inserts so I can use half of the grill as a griddle. It cooks great but you do have the partition in the middle. Same with the Jumbo Joe. If you take care of them it looks like they will last "forever".
      I also have the veggies insert. It's nice, cooks well, is heavy and well made. And I have the cast iron pan insert. But to be honest, if you can fine a good cast iron pan, get that instead if the craycort pan inserts.
      Overall, if you grill a lot, I recommend them.

      @@Weberkettleclub I have two of the quarter griddles for half cooking surface, the cast iron pan insert and the veggies insert. I don't have a 26 Weber but I do have the craycort for the jumbo Joe and 22 and love it for both. Though I use regular grates if I take the jumbo Joe to the park or wherever.

    Does killa grilla make one for the 22" i can only find for 22.5 on website. Does anyone know if the large opening hinged killa grilla fits with the slow n sear well?

    • @Weberkettleclub
      @Weberkettleclub  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's the one you want. 22.5 is the actual size of the weber kettle. sometimes the .5 is included, sometimes not

    Grates need to be kept seasoned...rusting factor?

  • @adamellistutorials

    What’s the best grate? You can only have one? I will only use one door, so the KG seems better, but it lacks that heavy duty look and grill marks etc.
    Is the Malary worth the extra £40?
