- When I was shopping for a new catback I couldn't find a video of a 240 running this exhaust with a stock KA, stock manifold, and stock cat. I took a chance, bought this catback, and made a video that would have been helpful to me. I'm very happy with it. I forgot to mention in the video that on the highway around 3k it is surprisingly quiet just cruising which is a big deal to me. Use good speakers or a good set of headphones to hear it best. It's pretty deep. Sorry for the terrible quality but the sound is pretty good.
I bought the catback from Enjuku Racing. www.enjukuracing.com
Yes that is a CF hatch and no those are not Kouki tails.
Here's a video I snapped one my way home the other day. It was dark and raining, but you get the picture. Need headphones or good speakers....and it's just an HD camera phone.
• Driving a little with ...
Daytime video of 2nd gear punch.... • ISIS/ISR dual 3" strai...
6 mins or chatting to hear sum light revvs, i wanna hear dat KA screams!
Yea I'm in college and I like to do things a little different. I think they look really clean. I'm happy with how they came out.
Thanks man. I enjoy it. I guess it's been on for about a month and a half now. I have noticed that even though it is a straight pipe exhaust...when it warms up it never gets poppy and raspy at the top of a gear.
Thanks :) I may do some more vids soon with my good camera...maybe some drive-bys with the car warmed up or something. I let a buddy drive it last night. (Just finished my 5-speed swap) and it sounds great. I'll try to make one soon.
Ive always been a fan of the kouki tail lights. So clean looking. Great video and awesome sound
Looks good. You are right once you change the headers the sound becomes so loud since the main cat is part of the header assembly
yea it's really not bad at all. Sounds good. I'm going to be adding a 14" long 1/2" thick Magnaflow resonator soon to help keep it under control in the higher RPMs.
Glad you enjoyed it lol.....just giving my opinion and trying to help people out
nah bro i literally bought this exhaust because of this video. gave me alot more confidence in the product. bought same bushings and everything. mine came with 3 though =/ so i guess i need to use one stock one. hope the exhaust isnt too loud on my single cam! thanks again for the video!
That's great man. Yes the bushing kit comes with 3. I used one of the stock bushings on the midpipe and used the 3 CS bushings on the back.
You can keep your revwrse lights if you use transparent vinyl for the center or cut out holes for them
Mine was straight piped with this ISIS catback before I went SR20. Turbo compared to N/A does not make any difference in decibels. Just as loud either way. I've put over 60,000 miles on mine with no mufflers, resonators or cat, never been pulled over for it. If someone is worried about getting pulled over don't be looking at mufflerless and resonatorless catbacks in the first place. Nice detailed video. Don't see to many videos this detailed unfortunately.
You could put hose clamps around the exhaust bushings as some people do but there is a point that you will be putting pressure on the flanges and the header if you think about it.
I'm going to be honest bro, that sounds pretty sweet.
I bought some cheap altezza style tails off ebay for $100 then used vinyl to black out the center and tint the tails dark red. All in all I probably spent $130 and spent a lot of time on them. You have to bake and reseal ebay tails too. Only try it if you're good with vinyl wrapping.
No problem. Glad it helped you.
They are the clear ones you can get off ebay that I resealed and vinyl wrapped.
this is the exact style i want on my car. TY very much for the vid!!
your description is fantastic, thank you for this video!
I may do that tonight when its warm. The auto trans is still in the car, but you'll get the idea. 5 spd swap next month. One more enjuku order.
Yes it will bolt right up with no extra hardware.
The hatch is a VIS. I found it brand new on craigslist dirt cheap from a guy that had sold the car it was going to go on. Just google and you can find them. Retail is not cheap though. I mentioned in an earlier comment what the tails are.
No problem. Just added another video.
3" and 4" is referring to the diameter of the tips, not the length. When someone says a car has a 3" exhaust that doesn't mean the exhaust is 3" long lol. Anyway, I do think the 4" (diameter) tips are a bit longer as well.
That it does. Not so boxy but similar...especially under a load
No it did not come with bushings. You can use your stock ones, but I wanted it to be held as high and tight as possible. There are a total of 4 bushings.
Yea it's got a little bit of that gong on. Took of the top guide but haven't ventured any lower. 140k miles
Nope no problems at all. Just used a regular 3" flange gasket with some Permatex copper high temp rtv on it to ensure a good seal.
Thanks for the video man, I wanted this exhaust for a long time and found one brand new for a cheap price, but just like you said in your video, everyone has it on high flow cats or test pipe, now I have a dumb question for ya, were there any problems bolting it up to your stock cat converter? And I wanted to know what gasket did you use to mate the cat and the exhaust?
I have never gotten pulled over. If I want to drive spirited I make sure no cops are around. Otherwise I just cruise and don't offend anyone. Getting pulled over or not depends on the cop and how you drive.
Nicely detailed vid.
nice in-depth video bro.Q:Are those stock tails?if not, what are the name of them?
Thanks man.
They're Ebay tails that I baked, resealed, and wrapped the lenses with outdoor vinyl
Thanks for posting. This vid really helped me out. And very nice ride, btw.
Do you know if this would bolt right up to a bone stock s13 with a KA24E?
(i'm new to 240's)
They aren't OEM Type X. Read the earlier comments. I modified some cheap altezza style tails.
so do you recommend the exhaust?? i have a chance to get a basically new isis blast pipe exhasut for $180 and wondering if i should go for it or save for an HKS?
where did you get the CF hatch and those tail lights i'm loving them!!!! message if possible
any chance you can make a video with a bit higher rev? really interested in the same setup on my car, just dont want it to be too loud
Love the way it sounds, but i wish you had done mid and high rev as well :/
I just like to be thorough. I wanted to go over fitment and my opinion on noise level.
I plan on it
Very nice, looking to get this custom made on my 350.
Thats's possible. I'll post it on here if I do.
Thanks, that's what I've considered. Do you have any pic of how it looks? I have some worries about that... :D (I also considered changing the whole plastic piece, but that's a hell lot of work...)
loud as balls. I highly recommend a cat if you don't have any muffler or resonator.
Thanks
I posted a link to a little driving video in the description ^^^
Hey dude just curious, is it pretty loud in car to the point you cant have a conversation?
Oh shit man, sorry for dumb question for the 100th time.
Anyway - the center panel is wrapped in the vinyl too? How about reverse lights? Any idea how to keep them? :)
Wesley, would it be too much to ask for you to make a quick video of your tail lights? I am planning on doing the same and it would be a great help, thank you.
Do you think the 4 inch one would be any louder, or about the same?
Hey, can you put a video up of lets say..a hard acceleration or going through the gears?
Thank ya sir
My friend has the same on his s14, im thinking about getting em for my s13. kinda worried about noise complaints around here.
Thank ya
It actually doesn't. It's there, but it's not terrible.
Sounds kinda WRX'y, KA24?
I like it personally. An HKS is going to run you a lot more money and has a different look. Use your best judgement.
Make a video of youdriving it man I think I want these. I know its loud, just want to hear it in high rev.
On their site i can only find the straight through straight pipe system... Where exactly did you find the catback version? Even though my SR may pass DEQ in WA I will still need a visible cat otherwise i'll fail. Any help is appreciated, thank you.
Here from enjuku!
It's an s2k style antenna I found online
Sick ride bro! I'm going for the same look a kouki hatch with 180sx taillights and isis straight pipe on enkei rpf1 simple look
nice 240
do you have any drone? if so, is it bad?
Just wanted to be detailed and honest about the product and my experience with it.
Nope. You can use the stock ones but I wanted to make sure it was being held as high and tight as possible without rigging something ghetto.
I know what catback means... Im just asking where you found the catback system as oposed to the full straight system.
Yep
I wonder how it will sound when i buy this and the obx 4-1 header :)
i love the ka24de growl hahahaaa
You will have to purchase a cat separately. "catback" does not mean including the cat although it does sound like that
Would a hi flow cat make it sound too loud and raspy?
did it come wih exhaust hanger bushing and how many do you need
what is the name of those tail lights, and where can I get some?
Just read the previous comments
I bought it 3 years ago bone stock and automatic for $2,900
3" straight pipe on a stock 240 isnt loud at all for what it is. my cars been running cutoffs for over 10yrs
yep
It would be louder yes but I dont know about tone.
Would you mind doing WOT fly by? So far no one has done this on youtube, this would be greatly appreciated if you did!
what tail light are those? bc i know those arent kouki tails
do you have to have those exhaust mount or is OEM ok?
I posted a new video link in the description.
Nope it's not. My gf rides with me all the time. No complaints.
Passes easy. Stock cat.
I can hear the timing chain rattle from here lol
Just added another video. Might answer some higher rpm questions. Link is in the description of this video.
4 inch tips with 3 inch piping.
The system does not come with a cat. If you don't need one then you will have to purchase a cat separately.
Hey hey!!! You're in Tennessee too. :p
Can I use the blast pipes full exhaust when I boost my ka?
What did you coat the tail lights with?
Just read the other comments
I'm from jacksboro Tennessee.
does any1 noe if ISIS makes one for a FC3S??
You work there man?
that flange is super low lol looks like its got maybe an inch lol
Nope it's a catback so you can keep your cat, get a high flow, or use a test pipe.
