As a womem of 46 and fellow personal stylist, I love the esthetics and tips from your videos. Nevertheless, with inflation hitting the economy hard at the moment, I would love to see you style the pieces you wanted to ‚leave behind‘ in order to look fresh and updated, as not everyone has the luxury to buy new clothes for 2023. Kind regards from Switzerland and keep up the good work❣️
There is one young lady I follow, Alyssa Beltempo from Ottawa. She does exactly that, slow fashion. Use what you have and buy responsibly. I'm much older and roll my eyes a lot on these "trend" videos.
After 5 minutes of meeting someone I don't believe if you are trendy, wearing 2023 trends or not matters. It is how you carry yourself, what you say and how you smile. Clean and cheerful trumps trends.
Cannot imagine ditching a Moto jacket -EVER. I spent a small fortune on a theory white leather Moto 20 years ago and it has never failed me. It’s a staple.
If you listen to the younger, Gen z influencers, they are saying the moto jacket is already coming back. None of the trend stuff means anything- as long as it’s good quality and fits you well, wear it!
To avoid ever looking outdated, don’t follow trends. Unfortunately that includes the advice in this video. Dress for your body type. History always repeats itself and that’s true for fashion too. 2023 more classy/ classic and less trendy and “in style”
Also you would have to hold me hostage to wear those wide legged pants again 🤣 those were popular when I was in high school. They get so nasty dirty at the bottom nty.
Thanks for this video but I don’t agree with your dos and don’t s. As a petite woman, fitted jackets and long sweaters look great on me. I am ok with “looking frumpy” if that’s what you think they are. I think we should wear things that suit our body type and not follow what others tell us are “in fashion”. Great that you buy very little! We need to be mindful of the resources needed to make our clothes and keep our items as long as possible. I buy mostly secondhand and embrace my own style. Have a great day!
You always need to dress accordingly to your body type first. Then you can style in some of the trends which suits your body. Never wear any trend which is unflattering to you. Thats a basic rule of style.
I'm old enough to have seen it all before including the items considered on trend. I've seen all of it. Wear what you love, combine creatively and anything that you wear joyfully that you feel good in will work well. IMHO the tight jacket if worn open looks much better than the suggested alternative - that slouchy oversized bomber was not flattering.
I’ve been saying this for years!! This is why I thrift because the flowy billowy oversized stuff does NOT work on me! I’m not shaped like Gwyneth Paltrow!
I am an artist so make up my own fashion. I suppose I live in a world of fantasy. Its interesting though to watch others scurry around looking over their shoulder desperate to keep in fashion….crazy. Having said this, we can always learn something and discover new things, so thank you for your info.
I’m in fantasy land with you…except my fantasy involves cute gym outfits because this lady is trying to wear clothes that I wore in 9th grade and I couldnt wear them again without feeling super silly. My clothes are about feeling…
@@sonialinsey8083 yes it must always be about “feeling” I think. This may sound funny but always before I go out I think… Hhmmm who do I want to feel like tonight/day? Hesitant to say this but a lot of my clothes came off of the clearance racks. People think I paid a lot. & like what I wear. I enjoy putting outfits together. Although I dress for myself not anyone else.
I think you should wear what suits you, maybe try to update it with accessories etc. if you can sew you could alter things to fit a trend, lots of good videos on TH-cam to help. Remember some things may go out of style yet a few years later come back in. I have a cashmere trench coat given to me by my mother and it is over 30 years old, I still wear it and it still looks good.
The wisdom of years has shown “keep your look simple” and your closet likewise. I found a style, designer, color pallet, and fit that works for a current lifestyle. Quality, timeless, and versatile equals an easy morning. A seasonal clean out to charity, friends is priceless. Oh, and accessories for the spark!
Hearing the word outdated makes me feel depressed as I have lots of these pieces in my wardrobe and can’t afford anything else, advice on how to wear my outdated clothes with confidence will be very appreciated.
Skinny jeans, long vests, and motto jackets have become classics… best to dress for body type . The motto jackets look better than the bomber jacket which looked frumpy. I don’t agree with your list.
Skinny jeans were a terrible fad that lasted WAY too long. They only look ok on women who are tiny with no hips or bum. I knew they were the worst in fashion when they first came out. They are definitely not classic. There are die hard millennials that don't like to give up their fads, just like the side part.
The Princess of Wales has a fabulous stylist, and she wore a skinny jeans or jeggins on their family Christmas card picture. Some people really look good on those, and can be considered timeless. Just saying...
The Princess of Wales is dangerously underweight for her height. You know the camera adds weight, right? That means she's even thinner than she looks in pictures.
@@sandrajayandran - she is praising the Princess of Wales' look though she is very unhealthily underweight. We shouldn't be praising that sort of look.
Not a fan of that bomber jacket, it looks frumpy. I wear what I feel good in. Searching for clothes that look good and following trends takes me too much time. I just spent 3 years to look for a white comfortable leather snickers, that look good on me. I will wear what I have in my closet, put it together so it looks good, and I am ready to go.

Not a single dress or skirt! Oh well. The advice on the coat being one size larger is excellent forever advice. Putting a coat over a bulky sweater requires that extra sizing. When it's cold, layering should be factored in.

I almost gagged when you said moto jackets are out of trend 😅, because I just purchased an Allsaints one which I invested in after wearing a cheaper version a ton over the last few weeks. I had that one for 3 years and never realized how it could take my very basic and minimalist style to another level. I don’t see these at all in the States but I truly am excited to wear this with long fitted dresses, trousers, sweatsuits and Jordan sneakers. I opted for a close fit but not tight as I have the oversized bomber jacket as well and wanted diversity. I appreciate hearing other’s perspective about trends as I have learned to stick with classics and sprinkle in the trend. Your content is always A1 and I hope you continue bringing us great insights this year. I also purge my wardrobe every 6 months and donate my better items because I do believe that there are less fortunate people who only care about being clothed properly who absolutely love the pieces I offer. It’s the fitted model, the one I am wearing in the video with the shape of collar like mine. I am not saying about biker jackets in general, this model in particular. There are a lot of modern options, like slightly loose with reverse lapels and power shoulders or without.
Interesting how different the fashion in and outs are between USA and Europe - Motojackets for example go never out of style here they are still huge and glitter and embellishments on shoes are also big for 2023 even glittery cloth
Moto jackets are never out dated here either. I think the options shown as a replacement are not a replacement for the moto jackets…. It’s just another jacket… not great for most women, but I’ll pass.

I love your style. You are so beautiful inside and out! Happy New Year! Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge about fashion with us! I love watching your videos and learning from you.
It's great to get some "clues" as to what may look most appealing, so thank you for that. For me if they were "highwaters" 50 years ago I would be terribly uncomfortable in them and wouldn't wear them. If I didn't absolutely love the "pointy" shoes then, same, and so on. If someone is judging me for my "older" fashion sense, well, I've earned it 😉
I notice all of your sleeves are very long. Is there a reason for this? I always have to have sleeves tailored bc I need a bigger size to accommodate my shoulders and bust and then the sleeves are too long I think but they’re about the length of many of your sleeves.
Seldom choose trends but what suits my body. Tend to choose what would be quality classics worn with less expensive disposal trendy items to update. Anything oversize looks like hell on me and I am a size 10 and above average height. Relaxed but tailored or straight looks best on me.
Oh-la-la... the last video of the year, I can't believe it! And I absolutely agree that we need to step into the new year fresh and up to date! Hi Diana, thanks for the video. I love fashion, but to educated oneself, otherwise, it would contracted saying that I love fashion, and yet, don’t know how to put things together. Your videos are very educational.
Update: I completed some research and was able to confirm that the metallic slingback are from Mango. Unfortunately, they are currently out of stock.....
Nooo the peplum! I watched 6 hours of u last night and this morning I went through my clothes and fixed it up - I'm having trouble with outer layers that goes with everything - my wardrobe is mostly black, white, pale browns
I disagree with the straight jeans. I’ve moved away a bit fro skinny, but straight jeans add weight to everyone! They box out the hips and thighs and just don’t look amazing on anyone.
I agree. Slim jeans, a compromise between skinny jeggings and straight jeans, look better on a lot of people. That’s what I’ll be wearing, along with my much loved wide leg jeans, this spring. My straight jeans will stay in the closet unless the situation calls for rolling up the cuffs.
I’ve been replacing my faux leather leggings with straight-leg trousers in the same material. They look more current and are more comfortable, too. The only issue is that all wider-leg pants need shortening by 4-6” for me. I’ll probably just cut them to length, they don’t fray.
I would say 90-95% on basics & 5-10% on fresh trends. Fashion and trends are like a rat wheel, you will never be able to keep up and the business wants you to keep blowing your money & where do those thrown out clothes go? Landfills. Bad bad bad. We are all guilty, but now we understand that trends are not the way to go, slow fashion and classics are.
Each season I make a list of things that are in style. I then make a list of what fits those trends that is already in my wardrobe. Then I look in thrift stores and Walmart for other items. I shop for more expensive basic items when they are 65-80% off. Saks Off Fifth and Nordstrom Rack are my faves.
I’m guilty of the too snug jackets that I’m slowly replacing with looser items. Dated or not, it’s so uncomfortable to feel the fabric pull on my arms or chest.
I've learned that if I buy a jacket a size or 2 too large and then have it tailored, it looks better and FEELS better on me than having something snug! I like moving my arms!
Thank you for the video, I’d love to know where you purchased your choices from, in particular the wide keg trousers and the white top you are wearing, can you share where the keep wardrobe suggestions come from please?
I totally disagree with the fitted jacket. I have a moto jacket that I just bought, love it and it looks fabulous on me. I look fat in anything big like a bomber jacket

Another great video Diane.. I have a few of the pieces that are 'outdated" you just reinforced why I don't wear them lol .. they will leave soon lol.. Happy New Year!
Diana, you look fabulous in almost every look you show. When it comes to the wide leg pants you offer as a newer trend, I feel a different brand & cut would have been a more flattering representation of the look. The fabric of this particular pair seemed to be somewhat crisp, making the full lower legs look crumpled and awkward. The lack of fabric flow also gives an unflattering appearance as you turned. The length of the pants created fabric bulk at the break and looks like it might cause tripping when walking. I appreciate the look in general but would suggest a softer fabric and careful hemming for those who want to wear wide-legged pants.
The crumpled fabric, as you put it lol, is in fashion terms called "pooling," similar to "stacking" straigt leg or skinny pants. It's very on trend rn to have extra long length so that the fabric pools together at the bottom. The downside is that to get the effect your pants are literally dragging on the ground, as shown here. So while it looks great in photos It's not very practical, as the back hem of the pants will become dirty and frayed from dragging. The upside is when the trend passes you can just have the pants shortened.
Everything you are wearing I have in my wardrobe, I can't live without my white shirt, they bring life to day and night but I can't get rid of my shiny jeans I just love them, I got a pair of 501 90s style just love them but I don't have the butt in them like I once had now I get that I'm older and my body shape isn't what it was but I'm asking how can I wear them and still feel good in them also I never wear heals, my foot wear are more flat but trendy could you please give me advice 😢

What I did with my crop white shirt…I had my seamstress cut the long sleeve to short sleeve and now I wear it over a sleeveless dresses … sort of like a cardigan or bolero…it’s perfect when we cruise when it’s just a little to cool for a sleeveless dress inside the ship…it covers my shoulders and keeps me warm. I try very hard to find a new life for all my clothes….in the 70’s I would go as far as dyeing some items….like dyeing white summer pants black for winter…

I notice all of your sleeves are very long. Is there a reason for this? I always have to have sleeves tailored bc I need a bigger size to accommodate my shoulders and bust and then the sleeves are too long I think but they’re about the length of many of your sleeves.
Thank you so much for the refreshing reminder - any chance you can provide links to the recommended pieces you are wearing?
Love your white top....where did it come from?
Seldom choose trends but what suits my body. Tend to choose what would be quality classics worn with less expensive disposal trendy items to update. Anything oversize looks like hell on me and I am a size 10 and above average height. Relaxed but tailored or straight looks best on me.
Oh-la-la... the last video of the year, I can't believe it! And I absolutely agree that we need to step into the new year fresh and up to date! Nothing feels more liberating when you are clearing the space and surround yourself with only things that make you happy! ❤ By the way, I bought today those metallic slingback shoes, love them, so elegant and chic... Happy New Year, Diana! 😘
Happy new year!!! The metallic sling backs from Mango are my best investment of the year😀
love your channel...but I still think you need to tell us where you get your 'keep' pieces....love the black leather or leather faux pants...you look smashing in everything...even the 'get rid of's;'..
Thank you! Black pants are from Mango. I put all the links, but this time I have most items from seasons ago, so I don’t know even if it makes sense.
Would you please let us know what is your favorite brand of five pocket jeans? Thanks. Great channel!
Enjoyed your vid, but have to say, your best look was the jeggins 👍
And leave the big band in 2024 too!
Thanks for all the fab advice!
❤
Enjoy your holidays!
🎉
Hi Diana, thanks for the video. I love fashion, but to educated oneself, otherwise, it would contracted saying that I love fashion, and yet, don’t know how to put things together. Your videos are very educational.
Thanks for these styling tips. I would love to know the brand of the silver pumps that you showcase in the video. Thank you!
Update: I completed some research and was able to confirm that the metallic slingback are from Mango. Unfortunately, they are currently out of stock.....
@@gatransplant1 mango shoes are so uncomfortable tho
Disagree. For my figure straight always fits and looks best on me.
I’ve been replacing my faux leather leggings with straight-leg trousers in the same material. They look more current and are more comfortable, too. The only issue is that all wider-leg pants need shortening by 4-6” for me. I’ll probably just cut them to length, they don’t fray.
Where can we find that black bomber jacket - slightly oversized? I loved that piece. Thanks
Love your videos, but I think peplum tops are a classic and can always look good - on the right body type.
I view peplum more as a basic/classic than a trend
Another great video Diana - thank you! May I ask what brand the wide leg trousers are? And the gorgeous white feather top too!
Thank you! The pants are low classic, the feathered top is Saloni, they are last seasons.
Fantastic white top with feathers. Where is it from?
Thank You for making this video. I am constantly asking my daughter or friend is my outfit OK?
I totally disagree with the fitted jacket. I have a moto jacket that I just bought, love it and it looks fabulous on me. I look fat in anything big like a bomber jacket
I agree. Bomber jackets look so bad on me. I’m always complemented when I wear fitted jackets.
I think bomber jackets look better on men, by and large.

Hello from a new subscriber! I realize you may not be in the same country, however, would you be able to share where you purchased your beautiful white sleeveless top with feathers? Thank you from Canada :))
Thank you Diana, so glad I came across your videos!
Excellent video-thank you for your expertise Diana ❤
Hello, what is your opinion on brown faux leather pants?
Another great video Diane.. I have a few of the pieces that are 'outdated" you just reinforced why I don't wear them lol .. they will leave soon lol..
Happy New Year!
Thank you, Maria! Which ones you refer to? I am curious 😊
I have 1 pair jeggings, peplum top, fitted tight leather jacket and a long vest 😂😂
Love your videos! Really, Really get soooooo tired of that annoying music though!!
I liké very much when you say ''camouflage'' !!!! I am agréé with you for everything you say in this video
If it’s out of style why would we give it to our friends
😅😅😅
OMG I love my long coat , should I throw it away?
Hi can I get the style guide? My height is 5’7’’ and I have a natural o or apple shape that becomes more rectangular as I am loosing weight. Thanks
where do you get the silver slip back shoes ?? love them !
Well organized and great information!
Thanks! Where to get the pointy metallic shoes please?
I have to laugh when anything is described as "always in style" because it's just not true.

The download didn't work.
I really enjoyed this video! Please tell me what brand the first white shirt is with the front pockets. I love it!
It’s a Zara, glad you liked my video 😊
@@dianagoss Thank you!
Fantastic video. So we’ll done!!
I am fixated on your gorgeous white top with some feathers like embellishment. Do you mind sharing the source? Thank you!
Thank you, Marina! It’s from Saloni, but past seeasons collection
@@dianagoss thank you💐
Why don’t you give links for the clothes you show?
I’d LOVE you to show you wearing shoes for women that can’t wear heels or have foot issues. I’m only 48 and in great shape but absolutely struggle to find comfortable shoes that don’t look “granny.” Please help. Lots of women are like me…
How about 1 1/2-2" seude boots? Nordstrom Rack has great comfort shoes at a discount.
@@americafirst9144 Thank you!
Kitten heels.
Thanks so much Diana for these wonderful tips. Happy New Year!
Excellent content! New subscriber. ❤️
Great video Diana🌺
Glad you liked it!!
I definitely appreciate your knowledge of fashion! So many women on TH-cam or these "influencers" , especially the overweight ones, always squeezing into clothes that are too small & saying "wear what you want". They look ridiculous. If you are a size 26...wear a size 26, not a size 22.
Proper fit is key!!!
Диана делает показ и подбор комплектов неплохо. Но все это очень напоминает приемы Nicol Johnson. Только для значительно более скромного потребителя
Thank you for the video & Happy & Healthy New Year to you Diana!
Thank you! Happy New Year! 🎉
You are so cool. Very happy I found this channel
