    Just ordered the 1805 through your link for $442. In stock with 2 day shipping. Decided to go the complete DIY route. Even adding the wahoo sensor, scoche heart rate monitor, weights and a mat, I still only ended up at $600 (a couple hundred less than the Schwinn). Thank you for all of the helpful information to feel confident with this choice!

    Great video. I really appreciate all you do. The 1805 is king in my book. I bought some dual sided pedals from Amazon a while back so that I could clip in and they were only $49.99 and work great. I use a plastic shower caddy to hold my weights. It just slides down the middle portion of the handlebars and I can easily reach. It doesn't interfere with my ride at all. I ride in front of a tv and use the tablet holder for my phone and remote. Before using the shower caddy, I was going to order a set of water bottle holders for my weights. I haven't come across any cost effective weight holders. Happy New Year to you and yours.

      @Ashley McFadden Girl I gotta make it work. I looked back on Amazon and could not find those pedals. I bought them in July for another bike but they were the Ybeki SPD Hybrid pedals. You may be able to find them somewhere else. Happy riding.

      @Dianna Payne I have gotten rid of the shower caddy and now use single Over the door hooks that I got from the Dollar Tree. They work so much better and I can move them about. I can hold up to 5lb weights without issue. The caddy was something I purchased years ago and have no idea where I purchased it. Sorry. Check out the hooks though. They really are perfect.

    TailHappyTV, your reviews of these bikes are INCREDIBLY helpful, and I am borderline addicted to watching them, haha. I had it narrowed down to the Sunny B1805 with a Wahoo cadence sensor, but now the predicament...
    From what I can tell using the compare feature on Sunny's website, and outside of very slight dimension, inseam, and Q-Factor differences, the new B1913 (or Training Cycling Bike as Sunny refers to it) is literally the exact same bike as the B1805, but upgraded with two items...
    1 - Digital Monitor with speed, cadence, and pulse (heart rate using handlebar pulse grips), but still no resistance.
    2 - Cage/SPD compatible pedals.
    I am happy they are not messing with a good design (even appears to have identical handlebars), only improving on the missing features, and this would seem to be a close competitor to the Schwinn IC4. However I am sure the downside will be price (currently $799 from Sunny's site). I cannot find it anywhere else at the moment, not even Amazon (maybe it's too new?). I am so torn, because the 1805 just returned to $599 (after the $170 increase last week) and I was just about to pull the trigger today. But now I'm thinking I should wait until the B1913 is released on Amazon, ect. to see what the price difference is. Also, the B1805 is listed as "sold out" on Sunny's website, so I'm wondering if they will be discontinuing it at some point and it will become hard to find. It looks like it was released about 2.5 years ago. Interested in your thoughts?

    I have the IC4. It's a nice bike. The resistance and mph are not accurate out of the box. However i did find a calibration procedure that will fix the weak resistance and inaccurate mph. I used to be able to pedal thru the maximum resistance while doing intervals, but since recalibrating the console i can't even get to the maximum resistance. I have put around 600 miles on the bike so far with no problems.

    I wanted to thank you for this comprehensive review of both these bikes. I was originally leaning toward the IC4 (I'm a techie that likes gadgets), but decided on the Sunny SF-B1805 after watching all your videos on them both. I will be a complete cycling newbie (I road a mountain bike like 20 years ago) and chose the better ride and lower cost over the electronics that I may not really need as well as the possibility of some of the slight issues you and others have had with the IC4. Even adding the cadence sensor and picking up a nice HRM, the Sunny "package" is still like $200 cheaper than the Schwinn!
    I know it's not much, but I used your link to purchase it. It's back down to it's "normal" price of $599 and was in stock for delivery same week, which is great. I'm so glad I stumbled on your reviews and comparisons. Keep making great content!

    Great video. I've been in the market and looking for a spin bike for about a month (have not decided yet because I have some great exercise equipment available in the meantime, and trying not to spend $2k on a Peloton). I'm down to three bikes, the Costco Echolon S4, 1805 and IC4. Trying to stay around $1k, but price is not an issue, just tryin get get best price/value. So, I keep going back and forth - your videos are not helping my waffling (thanks for doing these by the way, a lot of time and effort goes into developing content like this). Based on this latest video, I think Sunny 1805 is a great option. I need to solve for the computer tho, if I can get an onboard computer, like a cateye (see cheap computers on Amazon for under $50), or something that is fixed to the bike that would be great. I want to be able to have anyone jump on the bike and use it without configuring an app. Getting a resistance level is nice to have as well because it's good to see overtime if your progressing with higher resistance, maybe next Sunny 1805 iteration will have something?? Any plans to compare the 1805 to the Echolon S4??

    Really love all your very detailed comparison videos. It would be great if you made a video comparing the iFit app vs the peloton app for people with non iFit/peloton bikes. I've used the peloton app for a long time with my Sunny bike but recently checked out iFit and was blown away. Those real life location guided rides and hikes are incredible. I can't believe more people aren't using the iFit app. And for under 30 bux a month total, I like having both. And I've tried both apps on my phone and on my Fire TV and it's interesting to see the difference in terms of data shown on the screens. Anyway, if you are trying to find content for more videos, I think the two app comparison (in detail) would be great.

    After enjoying your channel for several days, we think we’ve narrowed our choice down to the 1805 and the IC4, however I have a really quick question: Can you tell if the emergency stop pad (between the magnets - used when you hard press the resistance knob) on the IC4 is leather (like on the 1805) or rubber/foam? We would like to avoid leather, and so a rubber pad on the IC4 would make all the difference. Thanks so much!

      @BackToReality 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Just a quick update, in case anyone else out there had this question (though, I'm likely the only one lol): I contacted the manufacturer, and they said that the "Emergency brake pad" on the Schwinn IC4 (as well as the identical Bowflex C6) is made out of heavy foam. So there is no leather, or any other animal products on this bike :)

    Very nice review. I’m a Zwifter, haven’t really looked into Peloton at all. I already pay $14.95 a month for Zwift. My plan was to get a Sunny and then hook it up with both cadence and speed sensors and then replace the left crank shaft with a Stages power meter so that I can Zwift. I’m trying to save wear and tear on my carbon bike frames since I am a larger individual who puts a lot of stress on a frame when I stand up. The extra cost of the supplemental sensors is supposed to be offset by the benefit of the reported heavier flywheel and therefore increased potential resistance over the IC4. The problem has been finding out the length of the Sunny crank shaft. I already have a crankshaft power meter on my road bike that I ride only in the spring and summer that I could switch out during the winter with the Sunny but they have to be the same length. I’m worried that the IC4 won’t provide enough resistance given that every video I’ve watched has stated that the Sunny provides harder resistance. I’ve been going back and forth for a few weeks now. I think I’ll just go with the IC4 because the power meter is already built in and that’s very very difficult to find in a bike at that price. I am also 6’2” and a little heavier and older but it was great to hear and see one video where banging the knees against the water bottle holder wasn’t really an issue. If it is, I will just detach it. I have a table beside my workout area. I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for taking the time to make it.

    • @farleygibbs6320
      @farleygibbs6320 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The IC4 doesn't have actually have a built-in power meter, though. I called Schwinn's customer support about two weeks ago and asked them about it after seeing this vid, because the built-in display does not include the power metric, and yet there's that table of third party apps on their website (3:27 in the video) and some of them will display power for you. But they are not actually getting the power data from the bike, they're getting resistance and cadence and then they use an algorithm to calculate power.

    Thanks for the review . Should I worry about the health warning that the sunny bike has ? I really want to buy it but after reading the warning ⚠️ what exactly is it ? And where does it contain that harmful chemical(s)

    Great comparison! Leaning towards the Sunny b-1805 but I recently stumbled upon the Women’s Health / Men’s Health Indoor Cycling Exercise Bike. The price is right but curious is you had a chance to look into that bike or even test it out?
    Thank you for putting in all this time and effort, really helps!

      Looks like copyright infringement by a knockoff company. That logo is taken from the Men's Health magazine but this bike does not appear to be made by Mens Health or Womens Health, or have anything to do with them other then stamping that logo on the bike frame.

    Why not just buy a little tube of loctite and throw it on the threads? Sounds easier than constantly checking an tightening the pedal.

    I understand it might be hard to give an answer because you are super tall, but if you were reviewing for a very small person like myself (5’ 00” and a little over 100lbs.) what would you think? I obviously wouldn’t need such an extremely high resistance level because I don’t have that extra weight of a tall person. Also, being pretty short do you think my knees would still hit the water bottles? I of course have the opposite problem of a tall person so it would be interesting to see you work with someone on a video comparison of bikes with a short person. I do like the idea of having the electronics already built in but I have a garmin and even when I go to spin classes at my local gym I have to manually enter in my info after class because although I have the ability to use my watch for indoor cycling I believe I would need the cadence sensor for my bike for it to register to my watch.

    Is there a SPEED sensor that you'd recommend for a flywheel spin bike that is also compatible with the Wahoo app? I get the cadence sensor, but can't seem to find one for SPEED. Thanks, in advance. Ken
    Also, can you review the L NOW Pooboo DL501 in the near future? Thanks, again.

    What are the q-factors for the two bikes? I believe that the IC4 has a noticeably wider pedal stance.

  • @mistymouse6840
    @mistymouse6840 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How does the positioning of the device holder compare for the two bikes? It looks like your tablet might be closer to you on the Sunny B1805 than on the Schwinn ic4, making it easier to touch and manipulate the screen on the Sunny. Is that the case?

    I’m ready to purchase however I’m confused with all the Sunny bike models- I’m curious to know why you chose the 1805? I see what looks to be a newer model called the 1877 that’s $325. The 1805 is $600. It’s confusing.

    • @TailHappyTV
      @TailHappyTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're right, there are a lot of choices lol, it was a hard decision. A few things I see right away, the 1877 has a single magnet stack above the flywheel, usually this style magnet does not create as much resistance as dual magnet stacks that "pinch" the flywheel based on my observations and experience. Also the flywheel on the 1877 is 29lbs vs 44lbs on the 1805.

    The sunny bike is rated at a maximum weight of 300 pounds, while the ic4 is rated for 330 pounds. Do you think there's really a significant difference. I weigh right around 300 pounds, and am wondering if that would be a reason to choose the ic4.

    How important do you think it is for some kind of resistance numbers for a beginner? I’m just afraid my wife will get discouraged if she accidentally sets her resistance too high and can’t finish a class vs knowing her resistance is a specific number and what her max difficulty she can handle is and being able to consistently set to same resistance.

    • @TailHappyTV
      @TailHappyTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a really hard question to answer. For some people that may be pretty important,

    I’m looking for a bike to use with Apple fitness and the Sunny bike seems look a good fit. Is knowing the resistance number at all times really important though?

    • @TailHappyTV
      @TailHappyTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not at all, especially for apple fitness+. I think the 1805 is probably my favorite best bang for the buck and quality recommendation for apple fitness+. Fitness+ does not even give resistance numbers, they do call out cadence. Cadence and heart rate tracking and power are the most important metrics in my opinion.

    Don't mean to be a jerk but in almost every review you seem to need to tell us how tall you are multiple times. Yes you're 6'5" and that's great but that is much taller than the average person so good to hear once in awhile but it's almost like you're ego regarding height is more important than the review. It fits tall people great. Move on! Otherwise your channel is great. Keep up the good work!
