Here’s a tip I use in procreate: use layer groups or whatever there called. Then you can have a different background and multiple layers for each frame

I just stumbled upon this video looking for something to help guide me with animating on procreate bc I’ve always used FlipaClip. It was rlly helpful compared to the others and very entertaining xD I admire your determination, and as painful as it looked and sounded to get this project done, I think I’m still gonna try using procreate since it’s new to me.. it’s a learning experience and I’m insane lolol,, Anyways, great animation! when doing the animation on procreate, you can use folders to use multiple layers for one frame! if you don’t know how to make a folder, just tap the layer and then use the combine down option to make a folder! you can put more layers into the folder and when the animation feature is on only the folder will be counted as a frame!
2:05 well what I usually do is draw a background frame make several copies of it, and then have the actual animation merge on top of it so I won’t have to keep switching from project project. and then press the background button on a frame to use as blue sky or something

I used Procreate for like… a 2 minute animation one time and I will say, even WITH groups it’s hard. And I didn’t line or color anything, so huge kudos to you! Super interesting (and funny) to hear your process.
actually you can have different backgrounds, all you need is to hold down on a layer, click another one and make them into a group, procreate sees the group as a single frame instead of two!!! I hope this helps!!!!

I use procreate and CapCut to make my animatics too but I attacked it differently (I do my animatics in black, white, and gray because I wanted them to look more like storyboard’s and don’t have the patience for colors). I would listen to the song I wanted to use, make the first frame and import it into CapCut, then I would import the song and adjust how long I wanted the frame to last, so what I did is draw every individual frame (I would use page assist) and import EVERY SINGLE FRAME into CapCut and adjust its duration there because I wasn’t willing to animate it in procreate, realize my timing was off and need to redo it again 🥲 I didn’t want to use procreate dreams either because the bugs and numerous tools missing were driving me nuts along with the fact the audio needs to be an mp3 for it to import into dreams, which is really annoying considering it’s meant for Apple products, and I don’t know how to convert a screen recording into an mp3 on my iPad😅🥲

I can actually understand the pain you went though making this 😭I am currently trying to learn to animate on procreate to, I also use capcut and also a video editor called kinemaster. Usually what I do is tween, but I actually do want to learn to animate more, I wish procreate would sometimes allow you to import music into your animation projects to it's easier to get around the timing issue, but your animation actually looks really great! You did a good job!

4:00 procreate doesn't have an import audio feature but I have a crazy idea I'm thinking about trying someday if the glitchy audio in flipaclip starts driving me insane... Basically you can import videos and animations into procreate and ALL the frames will end up in procreate as layers for one artwork. At the moment I use it for lineart and coloring my keyframes (only the keyframes because procreate can only handle so many layers) from flipaclip... But what if someone were to make a lyric video in capcut, then put it into procreate to animate over it? It's just an idea though, idk if it would work at all in practice.

6:38 I found out last night that only doing the lineart/coloring only on the important frames (ignoring the duplicates) then copy/pasting the finished frames over the duplicate ones help cut out alot of wasted time.
