Wow, 152's being withdrawn already. But the way this run was carried out, it wasn't that much different from when I went there way back in 2004. Only difference was, we had six cars.
OK, I have a question. How does the fireman know how much coal to use? Is there a temperature or pressure gauge somewhere or does he just keep shoveling until they get to where they are going?
That sounds exactly like the L&N Crosby whistle used on Southern Pacific #2353. Play the videos of L&N #152 and SP #2353 blowing for crossings at the same time and see what you think.
When I rode back in 2009, they used 5 cars, and #152 led both ways.

well 152 is gettin its 5 year boiler rebuild so it will still countine its service
