Western Maryland Scenic Railroad 2013
มุมมอง 61111 ปีที่แล้ว
In early July of 2013 we spent a day at the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Cumberland, Maryland. Despite rain showers we were able to conduct a good little chase of Mountain Thunder on the former-Western Maryland mainline. Also in case you noticed: Yes, this video is a lot shorter than my typical videos. Sorry guys, I can't watch documentary-like train videos any more and am more of a fan ...

On June 7th the train deadheaded down the CNO&TP enroute to Memphis, and we caught it at Rockwood and Spring City. Of note are the new signals awaiting their entry to service at both locations. On June 11th the train was on an inspection trip, and came north on the West End District with an ult...

We follow along, primarily in the loops, as 630 winds through the engineering achievement t...

6988 was sporting an IC 3 chime, right? Or was it an IC Steamboat whistle? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Great catches and awesome video
Bring back 610
great catches and video of this CSX Santa train nice horn salutes too
Dollywood express train ride Andrew 😢
Hey I have a question about 154 how many more years does she still have
At 7:32, I just adore that lonesome moan of 610’s whistle!
nice part 2 edation of this railways museum excursion
nice part 1 edition of this railways museum excursion
I've ridden behind that engine a few times
RS5T
2 ole skools working together awesome 💪🏾👍🏾
Was that the silver monorail at 1:08?
0:30 the whistle from Train Sim PRO
Wonderful photography. Beautiful scenery. What a thrill this must be for the passengers.
This was probably the last time I didn’t stretch brake the train to the depot spot because I was still running as a student. Once I had that burden off me I ran it like you’re supposed to.
What's that song at 0:09
3:34 Long Loud Train Whistle Blast
The CSX Dash 7 and the Family Lines Dash 7 were acquired somewhere in 2014 or 2015. I don't know if the museum restored both of those units so they can be on display yet.
The first voice on the radio is my cousin, William Stacy. He was a pilot on two of the trips. It’s hard to believe how much has changed since then, the signals there at Lynn Camp have been replaced, the steam program is dead and he retired last October. Time flies
That horn sounds like me blowing my nose when I have a cold.
Wabco E2
It looks brand new! Marvelous!
10 years ago today on June 26, 2010 was my first ride on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad. On June 22, 2013 I was lucky to ride in #734's cab.
Excellent video as always, the conversation about the gas line was notable. How big was "This Big" when he described the diameter.
I. Could watch the Nebraska Zephyr all day.💖
I love the more somber, softer tone of 489’s whistle
Yep it’s a beautiful train. Hopefully one of these days either Intermountain RAILROAD Company or KATO, Will make a duplicate of this train and model. H O Scale or even O Scale 2 Rail
I love that Lunkenheimer 3 chime on 610!
Ugh! I can’t stand her new look! She looks like a bland USRA 2-8-2!
What is the latest on this engine? Still running?
It's a shame only 45 people to date, have clicked like or dislike on this video in 8 years. Awesome capture! Thanks for sharing this awesome video!
A K-36 with a 6 chime instead of a 5 chime. That's a new one.
When do the trains usually run to Silverton?
everyday beginning early May to late October
I know when they do, they sometimes run 4 trains back to back probably because so many people come to ride at that time
How much do those tickets cost?
@@katerinakittycat3849 Oh I see what you mean now. I don't know if they still run 4 like a couple years ago because looking at the schedule this year I only see 3. The times are 8:00 AM, 8:45 AM, and 9:30 AM
@@katerinakittycat3849 Depends on what class (type of car) you ride in and the time of the year. Your best bet at finding the answer is checking the Durango and Silverton website.
OK, I have a question. How does the fireman know how much coal to use? Is there a temperature or pressure gauge somewhere or does he just keep shoveling until they get to where they are going?
3:36 emergency stop
yeah wonder whats up with that
@@ffemt250usually because of a last minute issue or someone isn’t following the rules
Why don't they ever have cool whistles when I live an hour and a half away and go more than 6 times a year?
Great video of Big 6, glad she’s finally back up and running!
At 5:50 you see a lot of belching exhaust. Looks great
Rip
I live there in oak ridge and I know exactly where this crossing is. I've lived there ever since 2005 and the last train I saw there before it got shut down was a windmill blade train in 2006. Where was this footage filmed at?
That is a BEAUTIFUL whistle!!!
It is
I saw an garbage truck
