If you're unsure about a first date kiss, just ask the person "Can I kiss you?" It's to the point, gives them the opportunity to say yes or no, and is actually potentially very romantic. I remember asking if I could kiss a girl at the end of a first date and her giggle and nod yes was the cutest thing I'd ever witnessed.
