  • MMA H.E.A.T.’s Karyn Bryant went to the world-famous Fortune Gym on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood to catch up with one of the gyms most beloved trainers; the great Macka Foley. Originally shot for a yet-to-be-released documentary, Karyn talks to Macka about his career as a boxer, his love for the game and why he knows that Fortune Gym will be his home until he moves on to “that big gym up in the sky.” Macka Foley passed away on August 3rd, 2015, and will be greatly missed by all of us who were lucky enough to call this sweet man our friend. Rest In Peace, Macka. We love you!
For those of you in SoCal, Fortune Gym is hosting a "Farewell Foley" party this Saturday, August 15, 2015 beginning at 12pm. All of Macka's favorite foods, his favorite drinks, favorite music, favorite memories and his favorite things to do will be celebrated! ~

Macka was the first trainer I met when I joined Wild Card in 2005. His boxing knowledge and sense of humor kept us interested and entertained constantly ! Miss you Macka Bomaye !

Used to love listening to him talking about boxing as it was clear that he really loved the sport and that boxing wasn't just a business, it was a noble and really great sport. Its just too bad we get so many shit judging scores and whilst yes when we get close rounds being a very subjective sport there can be disagreements on scoring but there are many times its piss easy to score the rounds so bad score cards then can only be incompetence or corruption. If we could reduce the number of sanctioning bodies especially sadly the 2 oldest one's with most history that are clearly now the most ridiculous with greed of the chart, its clear they don't love the sport, they love the money they can squeeze from it so the WBA with its silly number of belts can go as can the WBC. At least the IBF today has one champion and it orders re-matches when there has been close or controversial endings, they also order their champs to fight their mandatory defences, the WBO is probably second best.
