I met John in about '74, when he hired me to do the music soundtrack for his documentary movie "Sam". We had a friendship for about six months, and I have often wondered what became of this wonderfully talented guy. Just found your video, and would be grateful if you could provide more info on his whereabouts and quality of life. I live in the East Bay, about 35 minutes from SF.
Lowell-James Hicks Hi, I have currently lost track of Swan. The last I heard he was in a recovery center after a visit to the hospital. He is having some health/mobility issues. Friends have urged him to get housing but he is very stubborn about it. I’ll ask around and see if anyone knows more. ☮️
I know there were times when his children tried to help him, but sadly he refused their assistance. Hopefully they've tried again since his health had taken a downward spiral. Unfortunately whether he wants help or not will be out of his hands at some point.
