Yes it will! Wood has a great and rough surface that expanding foam loves to grab onto

Sometimes I feel bad to live in Germany where standard hardware stores usually do not sell insulation foam boards of such a size. Nice work (as always)! I really appreciate it!

Really neat and easy. Isaac, why can't you use foam board to do the sleigh and mts? Also, what did you use on top of the planter to make the round hanger?
Thank you so much. The reason I used wood instead of foam board was because 1) I had extra wood board lying around and 2) because foam board is weak and because the Santa/sleigh is so long and thin, it is prone to breaking and cracking.
I used some regular wire to make the hoop on the top of the cap
@Isaac Alexander, would you be willing to do a tutorial on how to make a foam block giant Christmas tree cake decoration? I saw one on someone's page and was like if anyone could make one and explain it, it'd be Isaac.
So, how long does the board last outside? I know its painted, so it should last longer than I'm thinking. I just need to justify this to my wife lol. All your work looks amazing!
I have items that I have made for Halloween and Christmas that I’m still using from three or four years ago. Insulation foam board is like Styrofoam, it last forever.
My problem is, I will want to build 2 of these...1 red & 1 green. I guess it's a good problem to have.

Watched a video of yours where you made giant mushrooms but where do you get these big blocks of Styrofoam?
Another option for adding glitter is to mix it into the paint.
I love this idea for the giant ornament!
I am thinking of a way to make one and make it easier to store when not in use.

That will 100% not work. If you mix the glitter with the paint, the surface of the glitter will be covered with a layer of paint, which will not allow it to shimmer and shine. So do not do that.

Why not put the glitter in the paint and then roll it on?

You don’t need to seal the paint, because if you’re using exterior grade paint, it already comes with waterproofing

This ornament is very pretty and I love the Santa, deer and mountains :) I would love to make lots of your beautiful creations but being 65 I already have so much Christmas I don’t have anymore room to store them. I’m not sure how to help you when that’s the name of the color that I bought. You don’t have to use the exact same color you can just find another color that matches the style you’re going for.
