    Susan, you have explained so well the things i could never quite figure out. I love your explanation of loading, basting the quilt. I have been looking for you unknowingly since i purchased my longarm four years ago or so. I certainly love the lives and that all the Oops are shown to help me in my journey. Thank you so much for your show and tell! Dave, thank you for helping with all the techy stuff. I also love the nice music that Dan has let you use, so soothing!

    At just before 52 minutes you mention your all over feather class that you’ve provided. I did that several months ago and have since used that design and love how it turned out. So for anyone else reading these comments…check it out!

    I'm amazed you didn't panic when you got near the end and found their wasn't enough backing. Learning from you not to freak out when things happen. Thanks for sharing even the "oops" moments.

      Glad you can learn something at my expense😁 But seriously, that’s the point of this “reality show” - stuff happens, and it gonna be ok.

    I love being able to come back to these and watch again, right before I use the design in a quilt. Thank you!! ❤

      I asked you about this last evening and low and behold I found this today! I’m excited to set up a practice fabric. This is so beautiful.

    It was so ironic I had heaps of slack in my backing fabric when you mentioned the hint about pinning the backing on the take up bar! Many thanks it works a treat!

    I just recently found your page and I'm really enjoying it. I've done this same thing. Can't wait to see what did.

    I'm trying this today on some small donation quilts and it is harder than you make it look. That said, after 2 quilts I'm getting the hang of it.

    I don't know how many times I will have to watch the video to get the memory motion. I keep drawing it out in my sketch pad but haven't gotten the "hang" of it yet. I keep telling myself that it is just L's and E"s but I can't seem to make it flow. I see you have another one coming up soon. Looking forward to it.

    One of your past clients sent me a link to your TH-cam channel. I am so glad she did! You are absolutely amazing on the long arm! Looking forward to checking out your other videos. I learned so many little tips in this video. Thanks for taking the time to show us. Always appreciated. 😃

    Happy New Year from Sedro-Woolley where we have 15 inches of snow and temps in the mid-20s. I'm spending the day organizing/decluttering after finishing my 61st quilt for the year yesterday.

    Did you happen to film a video reloading your quilt?? Ive always wondered how that is done! I've heard people talk about taking them off and putting them back but i can't wrap my brain around it.

    • @StitchedBySusan
      @StitchedBySusan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn’t, and I’ve honestly never thought of videoing that particular oops😁 But now I’ll watch for an opportunity, just for you😉
      It’s very do-able, just requires a little fiddling to make sure everything’s smooth and flat again.

    How much excess backing and batting should there be for quilting on long arm.

    • @StitchedBySusan
      @StitchedBySusan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I missed this way back when! General guideline is additional 4" on every side. So quilt measurements + 8".

    Enjoying and learning from your videos. ??when you changed bobbins it didn’t look like you had to check the bobbins tension before inserting it. New to LA and even when i check a new bobbin my tension is sometimes off. Do u ever run into a tension issue with new bobbin?

    • @StitchedBySusan
      @StitchedBySusan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes….occasionally. But over time I’ve learned to recognize the tiny symptoms of not-right tension, and so being watchful is usually enough.

    Why leave so much fabric on each side

    • @StitchedBySusan
      @StitchedBySusan  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I require 3-4 inches to be able to attach side stretchers, and then, often the quilt makers just leave any extra there and trim it off in one whole piece.
