check out my band white birds - the song is called when women played drums - never got any credit for this sample (basically my whole song just tuned down with a trap beat on top)
they added great percussion and tuned the vox down but this is my song and chords and vocals and i never got any credit. pitchfork also praised my first song from my other band then pulled it - life!
@@squeegeemcgee Thanks man, to be clear I love the remix /re-creation but it just sucks to not get any credit and see so many people saying it made them feel something. My other band was Drink Up Buttercup - completely different sound mostly compared to Bowie, Beatles, etc. With White Birds I just wanted to chill things out.
@@tomyoung2682 i respect sampling as an art form, but it sucks to hear you guys didn't receive due credit. i can't find liner notes for the album anywhere. just watched one of the songs you guys performed on indieATL, i can definitely see the similarities you mentioned. i found White Birds on Spotify, is Drink Up Buttercup on any streaming platforms?
Learning about this song now a days is like being randomly visited by a wise man with no warning. No one searched for this song, it just appears in front of you.
The first time I took LSD during my senior year of highschool, I took it during 6th period and I was tripping so hard I couldn't sleep at all and ended up staying awake all night and went to school the next morning tired as hell and feeling like I was living in a fever dream as i was finally coming down from the LSD but my mind was super foggy from the lack of sleep and that's when it occurred to me, I was about to graduate in a week. This was what I was listening to that morning
it's from batman 1989 in the beginning "Eddie: Hey, let's beat it, man. I don't like it up here. Nic: What are ya, scared of heights? Eddie: I don't know. After what happened to Johnny Gobs... Nic: Hey, look, man. Johnny Gobs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, all right? No big loss. Eddie: No man... that ain't what I heard at all. I heard that the Bat got him. Nic: The Bat? Aw man, give me a break, will ya? Eddie: Five stories straight down. There wasn't no blood in the body. Nic: No shit. It was all over the pavement."
This song literally hits my SOUL
