Basically there's nothing for adult dependents with disabilities. I'm caring for my adult twin brother with autism. I could definitely benefit from some extra help.

I fully agree, I'm a caregiver for disabled mother who only gets S.S. income, but duties I have make it very difficult to do a fulltime job for extra income

1@@jasongilliland61 spot on. Before my mother passed in 2019 I cared for as well and she had many illnesses. I definitely understand- it takes a lot of strength from a person to handle situations like this on one's life. Especially when you are doing it all only alone like I am. I have a aunt that literally stays less then 12 min from my home and she has never offered any assistance like a break for a few hours/day/ weekend.I've never ask her for money but I would ask, if she could adult sit for me. All in all I try not to complain because I Iook at it as, who else would have stepped for them? There's know way I'm letting my family be in some facility facing the wall. Sending you love and light and strength

I wish you luck and keep posting where the politicians can see it. Most people don't realize that people with disabilities are the largest minority. I've heard numbers as large as 1 billion people. Make sure others in similar situation realize they also have to speak up and get the attention. I have twin boys, one with mild autism. I spend extra money for day camps, music, acting and schools to try to help him be a productive member of society when he grows up. Extra money to help with those things will pay in the long run.

You get the same amount every years. It’s how you choose to spend it that matters. You will just not get the same amount when you file your taxes. If your use to getting back 7k at tax time you won’t be getting that- since your going to get half of it before taxes in smaller chunks. Next time you get your lump sum just set it in a separate account and pay yourself out of it monthly equally divided and it does the same thing. It’s about financial discipline.

Then you get the rest in 2022 when you file your taxes. You can opted out of the spread over 6 months and get one big lump sum at tax time

ALSO the other credit is called child & dependent care credit. For your viewers, the child & dependent care credit will be on the 2021 tax return. The child tax credit will be reconciled on the 2021 tax return. Anyone who gets advance child tax payments will get an IRS letter in 2022 to use when filing their 2021 tax return.
