Tnx man. This is something i rarely perform on my honda generator, around once every 3 years, and every time i need to refresh my memories. The video was simple and straight to the point, nicely done

Super quality videos, clear and very pro. One feedback comment tho. Not to nitpick but, "fine adjusting valve without loosening lock nut" all good but, **remember who may be watching**?
Some have no experience on how tight, "feel" etc... (recheck lock nut) I have had them loosen while doing this, depending on tightening or loosening for clearance. Experience can make things seem obvious :)
PS this is by no means a jab, I am excited to have come across you channel. Thanks !

One thing I always try to do, is to make my videos simple, for beginners, to the point with no fluff, and extra talk. Sometimes it doesn't work as planned. Thank you for your kind comment sir.

Nickel anti-seize applied sparingly to cover bolts and spark plug helps keep threads in aluminum block in good condition. Reduce torque values by 30%

Took my valve cover off and it was covered in oil. I’m assuming the gasket was bad (looked bad) and was letting oil in. Sealed it back and started it and it runs at a million RPMs now and started backfiring really hard.

Hello, thank you for this video! Very informative and awesome! I'm pretty handy but this one has me quite puzzled. I have a Honda GX160 motor and it will not start. I have cleaned the carburetor thoroughly. The spark plug has spark. The filter is clean. It has new gas/oil and the switch is set to on. I sprayed carburetor cleaner in the air filter and it acted like it wanted to start but did not. I took the valve cover off and the right side rocker was not on the push rod. Before I re-positioned the rocker, no gas would go to the spark plug. As soon as the rocker was back in place and I pulled the cord a couple times gas made it's way to the spark plug, but the engine still will not start. The motor sat with no oil for about a year, worked just fine before it sat idle. The only mods I've done to the engine was remove the governor and disable the oil level sensor by unplugging the yellow cord. I would appreciate any of your expertise or advice you have on this issue, thank you in advance for your time.

Have you adjusted the valves? Did you perform a compression test on the motor?

Thank you for responding, I did try all of the above and it still didn't start. I finally figured it out. It was because the flywheel and the magnet has so much rust on it that the Armature wasn't creating a strong enough Spark. Once I cleaned it it started right up. Lol thank you again.

@@JOATD I was always taught that rust on the flywheel magnet or coil would stop spark. In a Briggs & Stratton training video, they say rust will not affect spark. I still sand off rust though.

@@motoprof1441 really that's crazy all I know is I took a wire brush on a drill clean the rust off and it started. Could have just been a fluke. Lol

I’m still having an issue with the pull cord jerking back in. I feel like I can’t make the adjustments anymore correct. Any other thoughts on what it can be?
