The tunnel vision of Utah Coaches (primarily whittingham) is what is driving QBs to leave. You could say it’s the possibilities of not being QB1 in future seasons that gets them searching elsewhere BUT having some insider knowledge, the inability of Whittingham to see what he has before him (until he’s forced) because of his tunnel vision, blinds him and sends QBs searching for another program that will actually appreciate what they bring to the team.
Preach! You nailed it! Everyone outside of the program knows Whittingham purposely dumps offensive possessions to put the game in the hands of his defense. Why would any offensive player want to play for Whittingham? All three of their qb’s transferring is proof that offensively, the program is a dumpster fire.
It looks like Whittingham broke his cardinal rule with Isaac Wilson when they didn't take the next man up and which was Brandon Rose. It sat bad with a lot of players like Cam Rising who was seen smirking on the sideline while Wilson repeatedly flamed out. The core of the team was threatened by that. Now we see a few players bail out into the portal like 2 QBs who all felt cheated along with a jilted Wilson who's leaving with egg on his face. I think Whittingham might be a liability now to the team since the bond of unity was broken. Word gets out there, and some players hearing about the loss of trust with Whittingham, might just be enough reason for players to not join the Utes via the portal. I think if the Utes aren't very careful, they just might see Skalley accept an offer somewhere else, which would really be a disaster. Whittingham should retire already. He has a 5 year consulting clause with the Utes that pays him half a million every year for 5 years. With all of this going on, I hope they can get 40-45 good players to join the team.
@@rogerharris5515 problem is Whittingham chooses favorites from the get go! Once he’s fixated on 1 person, that’s his guy and he won’t/can’t see the other talent in the room. So that other talent is never given the opportunities to show what they can do or get the quality reps to improve even when they aren’t playing. Then with a guy like Cam (he becomes blinded by Cams success) it doesn’t matter who else is in the room and then Cam goes down (over and over) and he has to rely on his backups who were never given the reps/time to develop. (With the exception of Bryson Barnes who patiently waited years, learning, growing and preparing for when they’d need him to step in and be the guy). The others have never been fully developed (Rose/Wilson/ Bottari. It takes several years to truly learn, understand and implement the Utes offense. (I know because I had a Ute QB tell me personally) They commit but never feel like they are seen unless they are a Cam Rising or Isaac Wilson (top in the state). Until this changes, same things will keep happening.
I think if I were cam rising, I would immediately start looking for an opportunity to coach. He should be done playing ball, and could stay in good graces with Utah by coming back as in the coaching group. That way everyone can move forward….. Cam has just about as much college experience as some coaches do at this point. Anyone see any flaws here?
I hate the portal and NIL. You can't keep a consistent team of players other than perhaps on defense. They should make these player sign a 2-3 year contract if they are going to earn money like that. Moving on every year is pathetic!!!!!!!! What a mistake the NCAA did. They should have just paid all players, perhaps on a Tier type level, and limit the portal activity!!!!!!

Well, if Beck can replicate the offense he had at New Mexico, I don't know how Utah doesn't compete for a Big XII Championship next season. They will have the defense and even with an 'average' offense, they will be in the mix. With a top-10/20 offense then the Utes will be the team to beat in the conference? We all wanted an overhaul on the offense and it looks like we’re getting it. At the end of the day, losing Rose is harder than losing Wilson… he was NOT a leader and wasn’t liked among the team. Some have it and some don’t. Isaac might be a great QB down the road, but he lost the team in year one and there’s no going back. Not entirely his fault either. Utah can’t get caught up in the losses… next man up. Rebuild the roster with the plethora of available athletes out there.
I support the Utes because my two siblings are graduates of the school. I have been a fan for about 7 years and I cannot remember any other QB other than Rising. Am I losing my mind? The Utes have been putting all their eggs in one basket in Rising w/o developing other QBs? Yeah. Need to recruit outside, from the portal, and then bring in some younger talent that will be developed.

Every type of sports related everything is sponsored by sports gambling companies. They must be making billions off of Americans to afford so much advertising. I believe that everyone is responsible for their choices but gambling isn’t as innocent as they want you to think. The way they offer these unbelievable deals to betters to keep them betting is manipulation at its finest. They message you several times a day offering you said deals. It’s a can be as addictive to drugs and alcohol and they are free to advertise in every possible way. I believe it should be legal but there has to be some line.
