In case of failure of MPC on a CCU or failure of the HCU of any particular unit....in that case the HCU design ensures it can be disconnected by using valve 420 and 421 on HCU from the system and perform any repair work on defective HCU with engines running. There will be no oil supplied to exhaust vv actuator. Also as mentioned in video, the exhaust vv is locked in open position...
What is the reason for the unit being cut out ? What is the requirement to keep the Exh valve to keep open ? We can cut out unit in Running condition , by reducing rpm and then gradual reduction of fuel index of the concerned unit from MOP. Here Exh valve seat or spindle is burnt .Keep the cylinder lubrication on and don't run in new critical rpm when one unit is cut out. Awaiting your response sir.

The reason for the unit being cut out can be many.....for example - the MPC for the said unit is down,or the piston rings are given up,cracked liner, the CCU MPC is down and so on... Exhaust v/v needs to b kept open in two critical situation.....one when the lubrication system of unit is malfunctioning and secondly the combustion pressure is unable to b transferred to the drive gear........ Yes u can gradually reduce the fuel index in proportion to RPM and cut out the unit .. All the trouble shooting depends on various engine scenarios ....so the action u take must b correlated to those .....it's a vast topic brother and difficult to cover in few words...
