Making a Two Tiered Screwdriver Holder

- Inspired by a comment on my earlier video "Making French Cleat Holders" wall, I redesigned the screwdriver holder with two tiers of holes to place the tools in. It takes up less space on the wall than the first one. Like the previous tool holders, this one is made from scrap found in my shop.

Absolute best thing about this little project is I love the fact that you offset the screwdriver holes for easier viewing
I’ve just re-made my screwdriver holder for the French cleat wall. The first one I had all my screwdrivers on it, so was quite wide and being 4 rows deep it tended to want to tip off the cleat as I didn’t make the downwards support angles long enough.
Instead of 1 rack I have now built 3, moved the lesser used PH and Torx screwdrivers to separate racks and the PZ and Straight on the main rack.
The other thing I did different was to drill the holes to just the width of the screwdrivers + 1/2mm. They now stand much more upright and don’t wobble around
Love it, have to copy the design myself.
I'm surprised no one has come along to be the smart-ass that I'm about to be and say you could save even MORE space with a THREE tier holder!
Great design and build. Like the video, and your choice of music. It, the music, even had a "French Flair" to it, befitting of the project.
Thanks, Tom!
Great Idea. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
you made quick work of that project. Very nice
LOVIT, works Awesome I See, will redo Mine today as soon as the KC Chiefs Parade is over ! WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS !
Thanks for sharing that, well done
Thank you for watching, Hassan!
Yeah, maybe it was true! but if you have the space that´s fine, it didn´t work for me because mi workshop is tiny; but the cleat was excellent!!
Thanks! I'm glad the cleat worked for you. The beauty of the system is you can design the tool holders in any way that works for you.
What’s that bit called that you used to smooth out the holes?
Take Care Man...It appears to be a large countersink bit. Shallow angle. Take care to center that bit directly over the existing hole so your bevel lines up properly with the existing hole. (This is where using a good drill press fence/jig comes in handy.) I'm guessing the bevels are probably more for aesthetics than function, since the screwdrivers should do fine sitting on a flat hole edge, but it does make it look nice!
Jim Sulsona Thank you! That is very helpful.
steady dave, tell me the size, dave, so the video is clearer
l like it.
Thanks
Thanks, John!
MAYBE FRENCH CLEAT WAS NAMED AFTER A PERSON?
