The view and the place you have chosen is so wonderful, even if it was a painting those flowers with the reflection of the trees on that water would be a very beautiful idea and view, your work is very beautiful in watercolor. 👍🪸🪷
The lily you painted is so beautiful! What a peaceful, meditative place to be in nature and paint. And those little baby Canada geese were adorable! 🥰🥰🥰
Hi Mari I’m so happy you enjoyed this! It was such a great day even though very HOT! 🥵 I painted the baby ducks and still need to finish them-that will be coming in a tutorial very soon so I hope you get to see that one🩷
Thank you Linda! That little clip on thing has been a real lifesaver! Here’s the affiliate link from Amazon- 5% coupon offer if you are curious: amzn.to/3KXuoYY I like this particular one because of its inner lead sealing gasket. Have a great week painting!
What a very beautiful Lily. I don’t believe I have seen it before, not even in my many gardening books. I can’t quite remember if you said you yourself recognised it. Loved the painting, and was surprised to hear you say you were going for a more gestural approach, because when you once more zoomed in on the Lily, your painting was a pretty realistic rendition. Your florals are coming along in leaps and bounds! You still go from strength to strength for someone who had little interest in the subject just a few months ago. I love that your style is so fluid and that you have the ability to tweak it across both subject matter and medium. As ever, I bow to your skills. It was lovely to see Leslie in person. If, like me, sketching or painting in public holds a few horrors, being able to buddy up or meet in a larger group must be more conducive to relaxation. I hope many more decide to make it, if they live in the area. Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing video…👩🏻🎨🎨🖌️🪷❤
Lovely comments, Anita…thank you indeed, my friend. I do know Canna Lilies and they are a popular potted plant in the summers here. I’ve even grown them myself in the backyard! I had no idea, though, that they could be submerged in water as a water lily! That was exciting to know as I love how it gives some height to a lily pond. I don’t know exactly what it is I don’t enjoy about painting florals, because although I say that fairly often and don’t think I do them justice, every time I paint any plant, blooming or not, I enjoy both the process and the result. I am surely a riddle wrapped in an enigma 🤔😂 It was GREAT to have Leslie join me, and I hope in the months ahead we’ll see a repeat! Yes, painting in numbers (not BY numbers!!) is wonderful in so many ways💕 You know for certain that I would lessen the miles between us if I could!
@@artonthecreek Canna Lily… nope, still not ringing any bells. Cala Lily, yes but not Canna. They are lovely. That is so interesting, not to mention, unusual that it grows happily in both garden containers and water. I think that is quite a rare thing. Although I am no expert on Lilies, nor water plants in general. 🤷♀️ One day, I shall drag you into that cemetery I showed you photos of last year, and we shall sketch and paint together in easy silence 🥰 I like that idea, and no matter when it happens, it is lovely to think about meantime 😊
@anitadavidson1266 You know how I can tell we are friends? Because you can say “one day I will drag you into that cemetery” and I don’t even blink an eye!😂😂😂😂😂 (I would love to paint with you any time, any where🩷🩷🩷)
Beautiful rendition of that pretty water flower, Ann. What a lovely garden.
Hi DeeAnn! Thank you! It’s such a wonderful getaway💕
I’ve always grown Canna Lilies in patio pots. I had no idea they could act as water lilies!
