  • In 1998, the French Grand Prix was originally booted off the calendar, originally leaving a 5 week gap in between the Canadian Grand Prix and the British Grand Prix. In this video, I talk about the reason why the Grand Prix nearly didn't happen, along with other races that also had doubts for 1998, that could have left the calendar in a depleted state.

    The qualifying for the 1999 French Grand Prix wasn`t shown live by ITV in the UK due to some kinda rights issue/dispute also. The race next day was shown live but a film called protocol was shown in place of the live qualifying.

    Ah yes, the 1998 football World Cup, when it was offered as part of a competition ITV was running. Also gave us footage for the intro to Geoff Creammond's Grand Prix 3 as well, not forgetting that too
