      All good 👍- Quite a methodical approach taken. Like you say there can be a lot of variables involved in the testing by standardising each test and also different oxides and densities in areas on the board. But definitely different amounts of flux in areas during manufacturing and also flux breakdown caused by cap juice corrosion or even some condensation mixed in over decades.
      Do the location of any vents on the casing show correlation to different pH levels on your matrix?
      I repaired an old tape/radio unit last year which was 30+ years old. I thought they'd used a glue gun around 3 areas, but it was 3 caps which had leaked in different areas and poured down the vertical standing circuit board. It was my mum's kitchen radio, so there was a lot of condensation and cooking oil vapour mixed in. I now use it daily in my garage and the heavy crackling noise has gone away.
