Thank you so much for putting this together. I've been wanting to get into control board repairs for appliances, and this channel will be great reference material.

Buy a soldering station that reduces heat when you put the iron in the cradle to extend tip life. Metcal MFR 1110 is my recommendation, with SFP (standard temperature) cartridges. SFP-CH10 is a good cartridge to start out with. The temperature is around 700F. This temperature allows you to get on and off the joints quickly, while making premium connections.

      I like Weller WX2021N

@@ElectronicsManufacturingTech The Weller looks like a nice station. Have you heard of curie-point induction heating?

I think that these properties can and should be neglected when soldering with an induction soldering iron. Much more sense comes from the basic physics of metal melting

@@ElectronicsManufacturingTech Have you ever used a curie-point induction heating solder station? Like a Metcal or Hakko FX100?

Yes, of course, but I prefer classic soldering stations. The heating control works great on any professional soldering station -JBC, Weller

Can you suggest a fume extractor?

Big box with 1 or 2 pipes, like a Bofa V200 or Fumeclear FC2004. Any big box with filters, including Nepa

Excellent video...thank you...theoretically, all good...practically, when you will make some examples...taking into account that the market is based on miniaturized components (smd, IC, etc.) it would be ideal for the young generation to benefit from concrete examples provided by an expert in the field... there are many who post on YT (especially from service centers for the population) the replacement of a usb-c power plug or the board of a laptop or mobile phone but they do not respond to the messages users regarding the temperatures or the air flow of the soldering stations... obviously there is a difference between professional equipment and hobby equipment, but the practical examples are much more useful for those at the beginning of their careers... thank you very much and I wish you good health in the future, Dan from RO

I use 310C on my soldering station. It works well. I don't think it is far out of calibration.
