That story reminds me of H.P. Lovecraft style of writing. He even has a story called "The rats in the walls"
This poor scotsman keeps running into the horrors of the warhammer world - hopefully he doesnt live long enough to see what 40k holds in store..
He picked up the casket and walked towards the warpdrive, slowly melting away as he did so and when he had finally emptied the casket of fuel for the warp drive, the tech priest would read out his name in a prayer to the Machine God.
This is more of an "exploratory" video than anything else. I understand I really do hope that wanting the future creative assembly will add the vermin Lords aka the scaven demon armies to Total war Warhammer but you got a point we may have to just wait and see until that happens if any information comes out, and I can't wait to see the video you make about the skaven and their demon armies aka the vermin Lords and whatever else they have I'm sure that's going to be exciting but you're right we need to wait until after creative assembly add them in the game then do some research on them.
The skaven have to be easily one of my most favorite factions in warhammer other than ogres and orks and lizardmen. The horn-ed rat chitters yes-yes!

*My Headcanon:*
The Great Horned Rat was an Old One. An Old One who for one reason or another, was responsible for the collapse of the Polar Gates. (One reason to gain power over his kin or sabotage their project out of envy.) He may or may not have driven most of the Old Ones away, while letting the Daemons scour and rid the world of his brethren’s creation.
Afterward, he’d clean-up the mess and make the world in his own image with his newfound power (from absorbing fragments from the other Four Ruinous Powers), with a race of his own making.
It almost worked out, but not quite. Though he would still conquer the world with his own race, later on.
He would create/uplift the Skaven as he saw how resilient, versatile, and quickly reproducing rats could be. Indeed, he would switch his image to becoming that of a Great Horned Rat.
Because in many ways, he was just like them.
That’s just my headcanon anyways.
His race might conquer the world, i ntheir own way.

Woah!! You're taking on a real mouthful on this one. The Great Horned One has very little requests upon his subjects. He only asks they do as they always have. Breed, thrive and consume. His missives have no problem in eating thier own kin ergo, he is onto an absolute winner!

Im so glad Skaven content is still being made even after WH3 is the new thing. I just started playing 2 right before 3 came out and I cant stop loving these rats.
Anyone play multiplayer? I havent tried that yet and grouping with people with everyone running a crazy rat lord with a full stack and throwing slaves at everything sounds like a riot
Hey, I want to play Wh2 multiplayer too, but I dont have any friend who plays it. Do you want to play?
In MP you have to build quite a bit different than you would in SP. But if you want to defeat your opponent by drowning them in Skavenslave corpses, you can. Just bring artillary or weapons teams so you can nuke them. And your opponent's army, of course.

I personally think that the horned rat is the most unique god in all of warhammer. Both in fantasy and 40k (yes the skaven also exist in 40k and that's really worrying considering how absolutely powerful they already are in fantasy). It has its own twisted but simple agenda and its own dimension or reality. It's neither a chaos god nor a old one, it's an independent and incredibly mysterious deity.

I remember talking with someone who worked at GW, and they said that the Horned Rat was born from a mingling of Tzeentch and Nurgle's energies. So there's a solid chance Papa Nurgle and Tzeentch had a fling at some point.

I do wonder what all the gods of warhammer do in their free time. Cause like, if the horned rat is such a menace, why don't team they team up and kill him?
Its not that simple
why don't they Just do that with anything? Chaos gods are repell each other in their core, though they kind of blend in together at the edges, and they aren't exactly human, they aren't conscious like us to be capable of cooperating só easily with each other towards a "greater goal"
I think killing belief in a god is harder than actually god killin'
I do too, and in fact how many of them are real, have physical forms, or are simply concepts. (Barring the Chaos Gods.)
I also wonder how many of them are in fact, Old Ones who stayed behind and rebranded/remade themselves as the Gods of various pantheons.
I mean in TW3, Ursun has a physical form alongside his vast divine powers. Unlike other creatures of Chaos, he doesn’t just dissolve back into the Aethyr, he leaves behind physical remains. Physical remains that still have incredible power imbued in them.
As why the Chaos Gods don’t do more? They are in a weird and chaotic relationship with one another. Arguably they can’t outright destroy each other because they are in fact, all interconnected. For all their differences, they have many overlaps in their domain and desires. It’s why they can all select a champion like Archaon or Be’Lakor before him.
As for the other gods? It’s hard to say. Likely due to divine politics and also the fact if they went war with one another, it could weaken them against the Chaos Gods. Plus, Gods actively directly battling each other in person could shatter reality…so better to have proxies with a smidgen of their power handle that. That is, if they had to fight at all.
This also just conjecture and headcanon on my part though.

I am very excited to see the skaven in Warhammer 3 but sadly creative assembly did not speak about the skaven demon armies such as the vermin Lords and I know they have them but I don't know when they're going to come out with them if there's any information you can give out about the skaven and their demon armies that would be very appreciated also if you could do a video about the Roman Lords as well that might give creative assembly an idea that the customers and The gamers such as us want them to get to work on them.
They are planning on adding Thanquol to the game as far as I know, since he was a Grey Seer and one of the horned rat's favorite toys Verminlords likley will come out with Thanquol.

We probably wont' know 100%, but my head canon is that all the deities are represented in realms of "chaos" and that they all fight for territory. How it all function is irrelevant. Considering how numerous the great horned rat worship is...I imagine he is fairly sizable.
I think the great horned rat is a chaos undivided demon prince that got out of the control of the 4 and became a god himself

It still doesn't make sense why The Empire try to keep the skaven a secret when time and time again they have risen up to nearly destroy it.
I have to wonder what would happen if you cut the skaven off from all warpstone and the influence of the GHR for a couple generations. What would they become, assuming they survived the withdrawal.
