Also, horror movies scare a lot of people but it's their own imagination that really scares them. You aren't wrong, this is before Zach Galifianakis had become truly famous, he had been struggling for years to break through at this point. From 2002-2007 Galifianakis basically had no work thrown his way. Most of the other 'Between Two Ferns' came after Zach truly became well known in American pop culture, that's the difference between all of those interviews, and this one. This was filmed in 2007 when Zach could still come off as an 'unknown' to many. Most people only knew him, if at all, for his Comedy Central Presents special in the early 2000s and the early 2000s movie 'Out Cold' which played on Comedy Central a lot. Hardly anyone remembers his VH1 show. But he struggled for a long, long time to break through.
