I've been stuck trying to do this weird way outlined in my course and book that involves bin addition that always leads me back to 0000 . this is SO much easier. I can't thank you enough !
This is such a great explanation; I've seen so many explanations online that just didn't help to convey what was actually going on with it. Can't wait to start using this in code!
Holy crap this video has almost 20k views. Glad to be of help! I was just bored at work back when I started making these videos, never thought anyone would watch.
Sir may I take a minute and commend you. I am a computer science undergraduate and by god has the teacher confused the whole class with trying to explain what you have made succinct in 5 minutes. Thats a gift you have. Lets see some more of your videos.
Thanks Eric, you made it look so simple. It was really frustrating when the whole class was answering and I didn't even knew what a 2's complement is. :)
eventually I managed to understand the Sign-Magnitude Representation through Twos Complement! (which is weird bc usually you have to figure out sign-magnitude first but oh well) I'm so grateful for this, thank you very much!! this is way easier than the method in my lecture note!!
I don't necessarily understand why this works, but it's a very quick way of doing it. Previously I was inverting all of the bits and adding one, which leads to a lot of cumbersome 'carrying' of bits. Thanks!
Wow bro. Thanks for the video. Obviously you get the "in-depth" theoretical aspect in class. But after you have that, it's nice to have a concise shortcut.
having a cs professor with an impossibly thick indian accent for my very first semester of college is doing me zero favors, I had no idea it was that simple.
10 years later and still doing god works thank you
I was confused on how my professor explained this but thanks to you I understand it now clear as day!
same as me
are u graduated?
@@ineogaming6380 For me i am at grade 8
Omg a professor teach u
Shutout from the UK! By far the best explanation of Two's Compliment I have ever come across, clear and concise.
still helping students 10 years later! quick and easy to understand video
Dude its 2019 and u are still helping ppl u should be so proud
:) *thumps up*
this may have been 8 years ago but this was helpful AF 8 years later
Genius. I have been struggling for almost 3 days searching all over the Internet on how to do this. You my friend have removed the veil
You are a life saver, my computing course gave me a load of overcomplicated garbage, this is so great!
I've been stuck trying to do this weird way outlined in my course and book that involves bin addition that always leads me back to 0000 .
this is SO much easier.
I can't thank you enough !
years and years later and this video still saves students lifes i love you Eric Valero !!
finally a person that shows us the easy way, not getting into too many confusing details about bit addition!
You saved me 3 marks on my exam. I would buy you food I am so happy! Thankyou for being a messiah!
just started learning this and this 5mins video just summarised my entire lecture. thank you so much bro you're a legend
I have to say thank you for thanking the time to do this video! Very good teaching skills.
This is such a great explanation; I've seen so many explanations online that just didn't help to convey what was actually going on with it. Can't wait to start using this in code!
9 minutes before my exam, and I finally found this video... LIFE SAFER!
I have been trying to learn and remember this for my course for ages, and you summed it all perfectly in 5 mins. Thank you so much!
Thank you!! The prof did NOT explain this well, he basically breezed past it and used a different method. This is so much easier!
Amazing explanation!! You're great Eric
THANKS! This was way easier than the way I was taught and more clear.
dude thanks so much i forgot this technique and you just made me remember it for my exams. appreicate it man
obviously not in depth but serves the purpose of this video very well. which is the simplest way to solve the problem thank you!
Thank you, this really helped in my testttt❤❤❤
That just made my computer science classes a whole lot easier, Thanks !
Holy crap this video has almost 20k views.
Glad to be of help!

I'm glad it does, because it's the only video I've found that explains 2's C in layman's terms. THANK YOU.

Dude!!!!!!!! thanks so much for this video. this is the simplest way i have ever seen this explained. thank you
You are so awesome! You have just saved my GCSE in Computing tomorrow!
If only I wasn't asked so much about theory...
How did you get on with your GCSE? Just curious
@peanuts2105 passed with a grade 8, did A level and got an A*, now have a degree in cyber security :)
Thanks man. Probably the best and easiest explanation I've ever seen.
Dude this helped me sooooo much. My teacher is total crap at explaining all this so you really saved my butt for the test
Thank you so so much. I have a comp sci exam in 2 day and this really saved me😭😭❤
fucking sick shortcut thanks man
I appreciate your help with this 2's complement and your honesty with that low tech video.
Nice way to show how to use 2's compliment. Thanks for a great video
It's been years since I have had to do this, this totally helped me remember thank you.
Great video. Professor seemed to make it seem more complicated than it actually was. Thank you :-)
Thanks Eric, you made it look so simple. It was really frustrating when the whole class was answering and I didn't even knew what a 2's complement is. :)
This is the best method hands down.
You're a kind angel and a beautiful unicorn, may you be blessed with many warm showers this mushroom picking season
Appreciate you making this video way back when!

Oh my gosh this is so helpful! Thanks so much! Wish you all the best my dude!
jesus the add 1 method confused the hell out of me this works great thank u!
while this is not the way i learned it, this is much faster and easier to understand. thank yoU!!!!!!!!!!!
eric you saved my fucking life thanks to you now i feel like a genius i love you eric keep going man
Thanks dude. Straight to the point and easy to follow.
Thanks really alot, my lecturer first wanted me to get ones complement and add one to the least significant bit
Your video helped me understand this concept better than my prof did in 3 lectures!!! Thanks a bunch 😊
Thank you! Way easier than the way I was taught! Using the 1st bit trick is a lot quicker!
Thanks man. Before watching this video i was really stuck in it. Good Job!
Wow bro. Thanks for the video. Obviously you get the "in-depth" theoretical aspect in class. But after you have that, it's nice to have a concise shortcut.
most convinient way. Thanks for making this.
You are godsend my friend. So many resources overcomplicate the shit out of this stuff
So glad this is still helping people all these years later!
Holy Jesus this was so much simpler than whatever my professor was on!
having a cs professor with an impossibly thick indian accent for my very first semester of college is doing me zero favors, I had no idea it was that simple.
Great explanation, a lot more simplified finally.
Oh My God! You my friend are an absolute LEGEND!
Hey man you really helped me out, thanks to you I can sleep in class! :) thanks a lot
After 10 Years Thank You
extremely helpful i thought it was complex all you do is just flip the digits after the LSB
Thank you for the amazing explanation. This was fantastic!
Thank you Eric. Very nicely and simply explained.
awesome video. very clear and concise.
How do you do this Eric? You're a 'kin genius! Thank you so, so, so much for this easy to understand upload. I'm so genuinely grateful!
🙏 🤓
thank you so much, this is praise-worthy :)
this is by far the best way to do this. the other way where you negate ALL the bits then do binary addition and add 1 is a nightmare.
my professor tool 1.5 hours to explain this, confusing me in the process. This is KISS thanks.
This video is insane, amazing job explaining this!
Fuck my professors! You explained it in 5 minutes better than them in 90 lol
thanks man, Crisp and clear🔥🔥
This summed it up for me thank you so much!!
Hahaha, this clip is amazing, simple, and concise.
Keep up good work Eric! Very simple and effective video.
Great video! Appreciate the tip about converting numbers to two's complement.
u just explained in 5 minutes what 2 4 hours lectures couldnt explain to me ;-;
Very nice video, instructional. Thank you ❤
Awesome! Can't believe colleges don't manage to teach this.
This was so helpful thank you so much!
I finally understand it. Thank you!
Thank you so much for clearing this up!
very nicely explained thanks 1 less problem in life
Thanks!!!
So easy to understand with your explanation.
This was really clear and concise, thanks!
Teachers nowadays are a joke lol. A 5min video made it more clear than a 40min lecture ...
midterm in 30 minutes my guy a goat
huh man my college just started how tf ur midterm started 6days ago
at 4:26, 1 + 1 is 10. In other words, 1 + 1 (decimal) is 2. 2 is represented as 10 in binary. That's why he carries 1 when he has 1 + 1.
Calvin Barajas Thanks
amazing video thank you so much sir hope you are well
dope profile picture too btw
Thanks dude!! Why can't text books explain things this simply.
Bro you are my savior
Oh my God it really worked! thank you so much
THANKS FOR SAVING MY LIFE
Holy great explanation Batman!!!
Thank you kind sir, you're 'convenient' ,ethod helped me understand it right away
My lecturer waffled for bloody 20 minutes and I didnt get this. I watch this and understood in 3 minutes
visual explanation is always better then verbal
Thank you . You made it looks so easy
This was really simple and concise, thanks!
Really good guide, thanks sir!
