Nice job rescuing the fish and rescuing that guy's lure, he may very well have slipped and hurt himself trying to break the line or get it unstuck himself.👍
awesome video as always, I also like the fact that you still interact with the people in the comments even pass 1mill weather its liking a comment or responding back.We really appreciate that :),I also bought my first bait caster thanks to you & reggie how to vid, looking forward to it
I teared up when you helped the old man, thank you. Lost both my grandfathers within 6 months of each other in 2017, I’d do anything to fish with them again..
@@1Rod1ReelFishing any tips for someone that wants to start a channel? I fish when I can and would like to start my own channel. Keep in mind I have more bills than extra cash lol
Mike, don't take this wrong? this was excellent upload you being out of your comfort zone ( freshwater ) & fishing saltwater. I love your videos, but this really unexpected treat fingers crossed that they may be some more in the 1Rod1Reel future saltwater adventures. Thanks again.
Great memories of fishing for Blues at Barnegat inlet in New Jersey. Favorite memory is not catching a darn thing with my Hopkins lure and having the guy next to me catching more Bluefish than anyone. He was using an old kitchen knife with a hole in the top for the swivel and a hole in the bottom for a treble hook. Great video! Like button smashed

Good Video Congratulations this place is beautiful, the fish looks like the ones from here in *Brazil* where I make my Fishing.👍🎣
Crustaceans are what they love to eat with their big teeth. They do sell live green “Asian” crabs at the tackle shop but the die-hard tog fishermen set out traps over night to catch white-legger crabs. Shrimps work too but get stolen a-lot by other trash fish. Main thing at fishing in the IRI and other rocky bottom is having your rig set up properly so that you are not wasting precious time re-tying your rig. I have 50-60lbs double loop leader with 30lbs surgeon loops for sinker and 40lbs fluoro with octopus hooks. This drastically increases my chance of not losing my rig and having to tie it all the time. Those other pieces may break off but you keep the main line intact. You’ll see most of beginner tog fishermen get very frustrated for this particular reason. Also, key is to lift them off the bottom as soon as you get a bite so they don’t swim under a rock and break you off. They are one of the best fighting fish and again, best eat too!
Most of the time blue fish like to chase a fast moving bait. Strippers hang underneath them. The spoons you used are my go to for both species, I bounce the spoon of the bottom and let it fall for strippers in the spring. Good video.
Saltwater fishing from the bank takes dedication lol, I also drive from Maryland and so far I’ve hooked up to many blue fish and a couple stripers this season which makes the long drive worth it!
That "larvae" that dropped out of the fish wasn't eaten, it was doing the eating, it's a cymathoa, a tongue eating parasite. So technically, you saved the fish.
On jetties you should look for curves and points. Saltwater fish love them and also instead of setting the hook just lean against the fish. Btw you're right about letting the spoon sink. Tight lines!
1Rod doesn’t know it but I met him at Gander Mountain Outdoors on June 12 2016 in Fort Worth Texas and I’ve got a lure I won from him sitting right behind me in my bed room. A REAL OG
been watchin yah vids since before the googan squad man! Come down to Florida and get into some saltwater fish here!! Much better than bass....but you can get some slob bass here too
Saltwater fishing is pretty fun xD
Until you have to rinse and rebuild all your gear.
Those are cress bug(sow bug)
If that was me I would of left the fish lol he's lucky you could fit down there not me lol
I love it man. I fish off white horse beach in plymouth and there is plenty of striper bass and blues
Cool vídeo I went days ago and I didn't catch blues but I caught some Togs
You should help Reggie start a TH-cam channel!!!
Not a bad idea👌
He needs to learn how to fish first he said 😂😂
Lol.. men will literally turn into a pro learning for Mike
