I saw him do something like this with her around 1980 at a tribute on TV to Burt Reynolds... at the end Burt asked her to sing something, she said, "I don't have an accompanist," Lemmon got up out of the audience and said, "I'll play for ya!" sat at the piano, she said, "Can we do 'The Story of Love?' "
    And so they did.
    Right on the spot.
Until that moment, I didn't even know that he could play.

Yes, I only knew that he could play after seeing him on the Tonight Show. Johnny asked him to play and I was shocked to see that he was such a skilled pianist!

He was so cute. I don't know how a girl could be around him without wanting to wrap her arms around him.

Makes me wish Jack Lemmon had sung a bit more in his movies...or at all. He did sing a duet with Judy Holliday in "It Should Happen to You," but even that was truncated. I think he may have made an "LP' album, though. And Dinah S. sounded greeat. Thanks for posting.

American composer George Gershwin and his lyric writing bother Ira composed "They cant take that away from me". American composer Irving Berlin wrote the music and lyrics of Cheek to Cheek.... Ahhhhh those Great American songwriters. We will never see the likes of them again, and most were Jewish immigrants.

Art Carney and Clint Eastwood are also good pianists. Jack also had a decent singing voice.
