I didn’t think with the lead in and being in China/injured most prep, I was going to be able to hit my numbers. Despite a bad swim and bike, I’m still stoked coming out with a sub 11!
Sub 11 for your second Ironman and only training all disciplines for such a short time is a HUGE statement, so you can be super proud! I believe in your sub 10, I even think on a perfect day you could have done it already on this one, but let’s safe this milestone for 2025! 🚀
Had a chat with you before the swim and I think we both said we’ll aim for round an hour, that didn’t happen! I went 65min and drank the other half of the ocean that you must have left out there. Good job getting it done mate! Be proud
Mate, sounds like with good nutrition and better weather a sub 10:30 is completely possible! Edit: Posted that before your sub 10 announcement. Love it! Short-course practice sounds really helpful
Hey mate! I trained sports up until I was 19, had a 4 year break and only did weight lifting, then started training and learning swimming, cycling and long distance running in October 2023.
Hell yeah sub 11 in tough conditions and a belly full of ocean!! Massive congrats!!💪💪 Hope you can figure out your issue, third time's the charm, sub 10 here we go!!!!
A great recap and congrats on sub 11! Busso was my first and managed to go just under 10 and a half. We had a quick chat as I cruised past you on the bike and tried to give some support on the run course too!
we can see that you wanted to get more out of this race but you did so well in these tough conditions. Improving so much in such a short amount of time is incredible and you can be very proud of yourself :) looking forward to your new adventures next year :)
Great recap vid! You should definitely consider a 70.3. Loads of fun. Sub 5 would be a great series to keep you on track for that sub 10 full distance. Well done Brody it's been a pleasure following along on this journey. I just raced my third 70.3 and considering a full this upcoming year, and these vids are really motivating me to keep training. Excited to see what's next.
Thanks mate! Yeah looking at doing a 70.3 or too or like events. It’s a lot cheaper doing non Ironman branded events so that’s the route I think I’m looking towards!
Awesome effort mate! Had a similar experience in my swim at Tallinn earlier this year, horrible isn’t it! 😂 great race though dude, big improvement from your last race!
Thanks man - yeah horrible hey hahaha nothing you can do but just keep trying to pedal away even in z1 😂 thanks again bro! Looking forward to seeing your content again!
I Loved following your journey! You realy inspired me. What was your avrg Heartrate for to swimming? perhaps i did not get it. Best wishes from Germany!
I had 3 x Ironman races in a row where I peed 6 or more times on the bike, I fixed it for Busso. It's something to do with the sugar you're consuming leading up to and before the race you are throwing down the throat, the gels during the race then just make it worse.
@brodysearle , yeah, on the olympic distance as well, so I completely threw away any carb loading prior to racing and started having a more protein based diet. Fixed it. Also stopped me going to the toilet 3 to 4 times a night.
Even though the conditions were rough, you outperformed your expectations if I recall... amazing to see this mate. Keep it up!!

What a day Brody! If Ironman was easy, everyone would do it. Excellent grit and determination
Thank you brother ♥️

Unreal mate! 10.5 is a great day!! Sorry I probably didn’t have much to give on the bike hahaha

Thank you!! Massive improvement starting just over a year ago, so you have to be stoked with it!

Average HR was 140 and max 152 it says from my heart strap but HRM even in a wetsuit is usually incorrect I’ve found.
What you’ve accomplished is incredibly impressive!
I want to see you race on TPV so badly 😅
Thanks!! What’s TPV? 😅

@@PedalToProgressoh yeah probably hop off zwift now for a bit hahaha

Right! Thanks mate - I’ll look into that! Did you have any issues on short courses?

Do you mind sharing your diet with me so I can maybe give it a go? All good if not!
