- There is a well-established notion that #businesses do not flourish in #Pakistan due to a non-conducive #environment which includes bureaucratic friction, uncertain policies and #political instability, among other reasons. However, there may be another perspective to it. Do we really possess a #mindset for doing business? Or are we just #Seths? Why cannot companies run as conglomerates and be broken down into smaller individual companies when transferred on to the next generation?

How do you set up an IT industry with Pakistan's sub-standard IT educated workforce ? One or two IIT's - or even 2 dozen+ like India has - will not do. India's real strength is the many, many very good non- IIT engineering colleges, that produce people who can compete with the best in the world. (India's space programme, for eg, is FULLY staffed by graduates of these non-IIT colleges; there are no IIT grads involved). Setting up this education infrastructure takes time : many decades in India'as case. The issue is this : does Pakistan have that time, before it implodes ?
