Instead of just entering a total number of pixels (in this case, 72, which lights up exactly half the strip), will this controller let you choose a specific, single pixel, or range of pixels? Like, ONLY light up pixel number 72? Or only light up the pixels from 82 to 92? What about combining these (only light up pixel 72 and range 82-92)? And can these be tied to the timer function? Like, only light up pixel 72 and range 82-92, from noon 'til 1 o'clock, every day? That's what I'm needing, for an LED schedule/poster idea I have for where I work.
I do not a lot of custom automotive lighting especially on my car and I love these addressable RGB strips b/c they are packed with LED chips and the app allows you modify the patterns in a way that none of the halos & strips I've bought. My question is, can this wifi controller be wired into my cars 12 volt DC system and what is the next/designation of the strips on your site? I'm still learning the LED strip designations.
Depends on the voltage of your led strip. If it is 12v then yes, if not you will have to buy step down or step up dc-dc converter so that the led strip gets the required voltage.(you will need a high current one if you are using long length strip)

Hello, can you set different colours in specific range while static? I want to set LED 1-30 to be red, LED 31-60 to be Green, and LED 61-90 to be Blue, static, without an animation. Is this possible with the SP108E?
This is actually doable with the SP108e. Just do a custom animation with an image that is those 3 colors, though it'd require a bit of fiddling to get the exact pixels you want at the exact colors. Just set the animation to "slide" in a direction that doesn't cause the colors to change position and it would appear as a static effect.
😮and I thought it was just me suffering trying to get this to connect. Anyone solve this issue or do I need to move to China to get this thing to work 😠

When you choose an image in the DIY mode, does it get downscaled according to the amount of leds on your strip (e.g. if I have 150 leds, I'd have to work with 150x150px images)? If so, can we get a bigger resolution if we set a higher led count? If not, at what resolution does the pictures get downscaled to? Also, how slow can you set the animation speed? Thanks!
@@jamiekembel5204 I found out working with 1200x1200px images worked best for a 150 leds strip. At the lowest speed, you can make a 16 second long animation if you divide the square in 150 rows. I can send you some examples if you want to!
Is there a way of mimicking the colours that are present on your PC screen? I am looking to make my flight sim a bit more immersive. So for example if i fly into a sunset I would want the LED's to display the dominant colour of the orange/pinkish colour on my wall behind the monitor. It would also be cool for watching movies or playing other games too. I know LIFX and certain colour changing bulb apps have this function for example, but not sure about this.

When I got the same controller and the same led strips it didnt work. Like almost every diot was not lighting up. Only few of them were blue, but it was really strange. I connected them, but they are the same as before.. Is it with power supply or I just got broken led strip?

It won't work with WLED. WLED runs on ESP8266. This has an ESP8266, but it only handles WiFI. A separate MCU controls the LED string. You'd have to patch around it in order for this to work with WLED.

Higher number, higher end controller. I honestly have to say that the SP108E is probably the best one from the SP line as you can import pictures and have them as effects. Heck you can even use a gradient maker and a photo resizer (most gradient makers shape the gradient for it to be a background) and resize the picture to 1280x1280 or even more as lower resolutions don't fully work.

Instead of just entering a total number of pixels (in this case, 72, which lights up exactly half the strip), will this controller let you choose a specific, single pixel, or range of pixels? Like, ONLY light up pixel number 72? Or only light up the pixels from 82 to 92? What about combining these (only light up pixel 72 and range 82-92)? And can these be tied to the timer function? Like, only light up pixel 72 and range 82-92, from noon 'til 1 o'clock, every day? That's what I'm needing, for an LED schedule/poster idea I have for where I work.
I do not a lot of custom automotive lighting especially on my car and I love these addressable RGB strips b/c they are packed with LED chips and the app allows you modify the patterns in a way that none of the halos & strips I've bought. My question is, can this wifi controller be wired into my cars 12 volt DC system and what is the next/designation of the strips on your site? I'm still learning the LED strip designations.
Depends on the voltage of your led strip. If it is 12v then yes, if not you will have to buy step down or step up dc-dc converter so that the led strip gets the required voltage.(you will need a high current one if you are using long length strip)

@@omnipop4936 No unfortunately, looks like you have to go the DIY route, with a cheap RasPi or an Arduino.
This is actually doable with the SP108e. Just do a custom animation with an image that is those 3 colors, though it'd require a bit of fiddling to get the exact pixels you want at the exact colors. Just set the animation to "slide" in a direction that doesn't cause the colors to change position and it would appear as a static effect.
That'd be great if the f'en thing would connect

When you choose an image in the DIY mode, does it get downscaled according to the amount of leds on your strip (e.g. if I have 150 leds, I'd have to work with 150x150px images)? If so, can we get a bigger resolution if we set a higher led count? If not, at what resolution does the pictures get downscaled to? Also, how slow can you set the animation speed? Thanks!

@@jamiekembel5204 I found out working with 1200x1200px images worked best for a 150 leds strip. At the lowest speed, you can make a 16 second long animation if you divide the square in 150 rows. I can send you some examples if you want to!
Is there a way of mimicking the colours that are present on your PC screen? I am looking to make my flight sim a bit more immersive. So for example if i fly into a sunset I would want the LED's to display the dominant colour of the orange/pinkish colour on my wall behind the monitor. It would also be cool for watching movies or playing other games too. I know LIFX and certain colour changing bulb apps have this function for example, but not sure about this.

When I got the same controller and the same led strips it didnt work. Like almost every diot was not lighting up. Only few of them were blue, but it was really strange. I connected them, but they are the same as before.. Is it with power supply or I just got broken led strip?

You probably have the RGB orientation wrong, in the app, try changing from RGB to GRB,BGR,BRG,RBG and GBR.

It won't work with WLED. WLED runs on ESP8266. This has an ESP8266, but it only handles WiFI. A separate MCU controls the LED string. You'd have to patch around it in order for this to work with WLED.

whats the difference between sp105e 107e and 108e?
Higher number, higher end controller. I honestly have to say that the SP108E is probably the best one from the SP line as you can import pictures and have them as effects. Heck you can even use a gradient maker and a photo resizer (most gradient makers shape the gradient for it to be a background) and resize the picture to 1280x1280 or even more as lower resolutions don't fully work.
Sp107e is by far the more reliable. Also has sound reactive mode. Cannot get my sp108e to work with WiFi only direct connection.

"Set pixels number of each section" What is a section?
For example, the total pixel of the 1m LED strips is 144, so you can set "NUM/SEC" to be 6 or 12, then the "SEC" should be 24 or 12. Just make sure the total pixel is the amount of the whole LED strips at the least, then you can set the "NUM/SEC" and "SEC" you like. Also, with different "NUM/SEC" and "SEC", the effects of the LED strips will be different, you can have a try. It seems that I am having the same issue as a lot of people here I also can not connect to wifi been doing it over and over .... how do you guys sell a item that doesn't connect like it should .SMH
